The lake has a walkway lining it, which has a large number of stalls and shops selling interesting wares. Bhimtal: Another lake of importance in the town, this lake is relatively larger than Naini Lake. The island, which lies in the middle of the lake has a popular restaurant thronged by tourists and locals alike. Sattal: A group of seven lakes, Sattal is made of seven small interconnected lakes in the heart of an oak forest. Aerial Ropeway: One of the main attractions in the town, the ropeway connects the main Nainital with the Snow View point. Snow View Point: This is a point what offers views of the sparkling, snow-capped Himalayas. The spot is easily accessible through a ropeway or by road and is an ideal picnic spot. Naina Peak or China Peak: Holding the distinction of being the highest peak in the town, the Naina peak holds a magnificent view of the snow clad Himalayas. It also provides a panoramic view of the entire town of Nainital. Church of St John in the Wilderness: This church is more than a century old and is a marvel in architecture. An old cemetery within the grounds of the church is a place worth visiting. Tiffin Top & Dorothy’s Seat: Tiffin Top is a terraced hill top on Ayarpatta hill. It gives a beautiful view of the neighboring country side. Dorothy’s seat is a stone seat built on the Tiffin Top in memory of an English artist, Dorothy Kellet. Hanumangarhi: A religious site, the place houses a temple complex mainly dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The complex has temples of Rama and Shiva too. The spot, on account of its altitude, offers brilliant views of the sunset. Governor’s House: The Governor’s House or Raj Bhavan is a Victorian-style structure of the bygone British Era. The complex includes a mansion, gardens, a pool and a golf link. The place can be visited after taking permission from the authorities.
