Monsoon Ideas
Famed as the birthplace of the Father of the Nation, Porbandar is a port city in Gujarat. The city is named after the local goddess, ‘Porai’ and finds ample mention in Hindu epics too. Porbandar is home to several historical temples and structures and you must visit it once to visit its several cultural heritages. The place is especially cool during monsoons and the sea breeze is very cool. Carry umbrellas and raincoats at this time.

Things to see & do

A library too is housed within, which contains books on the Mahatma Gandhi’s life and philosophies.

Gourmet Treats
Porbandar cuisine is mostly vegetarian and dominated by typical Gujarati dishes. The locals are more fond of snacks and hence dhokla, sev, doodha pak are the most famous items sold out in shopping outlets. Most restaurants in Porbandar are vegetarian too. Adarsh Restaurant is one of the best purely vegetarian restaurants. Hotel Flamingo and Swagat are some good multi-cuisine restaurants in the city. Tasty South Indian fare can be sampled at Kadambari Restaurant.
