The staff were able to arrange an earlier than normal check-in for us, as we were arriving on an overnight train. They were helpful, friendly, and full of tips about the neighbourhood. The breakfast was full, free, promptly delivered and of good quality. I used the wireless Internet and encountered no problems with it. The Ulsoor Lake location is convenient to shops and restaurants such as Urban Solace, and a short auto ride from downtown Bangalore. The rooms, unfortunately, face directly onto Assaye Road, which is filled with the noise of traffic and barking dogs. The walls were scuffed and could have used a good scrubbing, although the room was basically clean. The towels looked slightly grey, and could have used a thorough wash in hot water. The kitchen alcove was basic, but did feature a refrigerator. We found that the one mosquito-repellant vaporiser next to the door insufficient at repelling the many mosquitos that come from the nearby lake; we plugged our Good Knight vaporiser next to the bed so as to keep our baby safe. I do wish that the staff had notified us of the room service bill when we checked out; instead they telephoned me later in the day, and I had to return the next day to pay the thirty-rupee balance. On the whole, this hotel is an excellent choice for a short business trip alone. It hasn't the ambiance that a couple might seek, nor is it a place to bring a baby or small child, but the location is convenient (if a bit busy and loud), and the staff are highly responsive and are this hotel's best asset.
