My stay in Hotel I 145 suited me perfectly. And I have to thank for providing me a phenomenal offer on this hotel. I was looking for a hotel for a brief 3 day business visit with basic amenities of cleanliness, quiet, wifi for business and easy access to the different locations I had to visit for work. I am not familiar with Bangalore routes yet but I must say, this is the best accessible hotel I have lived in Bangalore in over 6 previous visits. And I am only saddened by the fact that if I had known about this hotel before I would have stayed here in all my previous visits as well! Access: Well, the hotel is about 15-20 minutes from the City Railway station in peak hour. I arrived by Shatabdi express from Chennai and it reached Bangalore at 11 am. And I was in the hotel by 11:20 am! Word of caution for first timers: It is very easy to miss the hotel as it is right in the intersection of Coffee Board signal. And the thoroughfare is one way! So if you miss it, you have to go around a block to come back again. Hence please contact the reception as soon as you land in Bangalore and they will guide you with clear directions. Location: It is located behind The Indian Express building adjacent to the Coffee Board building on Infantry road. This is a busy street but because traffic is well regulated with many alert cops, traffic signals and one ways, it is relatively quiet for such a busy road. Roughly about 2 kms from MG road, it is very near the main attractions the city has to offer shoppers and younger population. And it is very close to Cubbon Park, hardly a 10 minute walk, so it will appeal to the middle aged and elderly people who look forward to a relaxing effect among the greenery which sadly many cities do not have to offer at all these days. It is easily accessible to all major areas of business and if you need travel to the suburbs, the hotel is about 15 minutes from Majestic bus stand to reach almost anywhere in an around Bangalore. Parking: Has ample parking. However it is not covered parking but on the reserved area of pavement in front of the hotel. I did not mind it too much since a. I did not drive this time to Bangalore so parking wasn't a major concern. b. This is so close to the intersection that at least 3-4 cops are present throughout and even at night I did find at least one cop on duty. So this is a very safe neighborhood. c. I forget to mention how close this is to the Police Commissioner of Bangalore's office! I can't think of a safer place to park my car! Reception and the whole check in process: I was pleasantly surprised to find eager, young and energetic people managing the reception and check in. I am so used to walking in on people busy with their "facebook" and it is the most annoying thing ever! The staff on duty throughout my stay in I 145 were keeping themselves busy and eager to help out. My check in was smooth. I had informed them my arrival time and they were ready to receive me and show me to my room. The whole process was about 2-3 minutes in total. Room: The Room was beyond my expectations in it sheer size. I believe I got an upgrade to a higher category of room but nonetheless, it was comfortably spacious with separate areas for work, rest and entertaining guests! A separate laptop table with wired internet connection with a tea/coffee maker next to it was a clever idea. A full sized single door refrigerator was available which was well stocked with soft drinks and beer. However these are chargeable, and clearly explained and mentioned before the check in so that there are no "hidden bills" in the end. You have to pay for what you use, which is completely fair. The queen size bed was very comfortable with a good quality mattress and good pillows that were not hard on the neck. All the 3 nights I spent in the room, I had a pleasant sleep and woke up refreshed the next day every time. A separate 3 seater sofa unit with a coffee table completes the length of the room where business guests can be entertained. Bathroom: Spacious bathroom with high quality fixtures for faucets and shower heads. Enough toiletries are provided as compliments. However do note that shaving, dental and shoe polishing kits are available with front desk but they are chargeable. Overall there is good balance in amenities provided. Internet: The wired connection was good and worked flawlessly. However the WiFi was spotty and only my phone managed to connect to the network and my laptop simply wouldn't connect. I was told they were having some problem with their service provider and their in house staff found a work around to make the wired connection spotless. Very enterprising! Room Service: All the Service personnel are well trained and courteous. I do not speak Kannada but could easily communicate in hindi. They stay out of your way and when you need service, they come in quickly, help you out and exit as quietly as they came without waiting for "Tips". I found that very endearing that the hotel has instructed their staff not to be expectant and linger for a tip for providing basic services like bringing in coffee or breakfast. The cleanliness was properly maintained each time they cleaned the room. They even took care to leave the TV off in the channel that I was watching last. Very professional. Food: I had only my breakfast regularly in the hotel which was complimentary but lunch and dinner was usually with business partners elsewhere. So I will comment on the breakfast only. The spread was sumptuous and food was fresh. Idli, vada and uthappa were standard and already prepared in hot casseroles. Fresh coconut chutney and hot sambhar were in casseroles as well. You can order eggs of your choice, buttered or plain toast, plain or masala dosa which is prepared on demand and is part of the complimentary spread. You also have corn flakes with hot or cold milk as option. Additionally there is a choice of mango or orange juice which they make sure that the jug never drops below half its level! The taste was pleasantly good. And if the same detail is there for lunch and dinner I can only assume that they are equally good as the breakfast. Final Verdict: Hotel I 145 is an excellent choice for business travelers as well as pleasure seekers. I definitely will recommend this hotel to everybody and will myself look forward to staying here in future visits. Good Luck Hotel I 145!
