As part of my South trip, i have booked this hotel, as my wife and myself want to spend some good time outside not sticking in room, this hotel will be value for money as it was located in center place near to Egmore and chennai beach both are nearly 2 Kms from hotel, coming to hotel room, only a bed in room not more than that no space for to stand even for both, room equiped with window AC, for the amount i spent 600/- it is ok, but try to avoid if you are visiting with family for more than one day,

cheap and best hotel in chennai i want extra bedsheets for a/c rooms and i feel about that must have dustbins for each rooms and i want a towels in bathrooms thats all

The voucher showed only the name, the door no. and the street name of the GH. Anna Salai starches for more than 15 km right from Thomas Mount to Chintadripet Railway Station and, provided with a mere door no, we had to phone the hotel several times to know the location. Worse still, the man at the counter did not know a single word of English. Fortunately, we know Tamil. Finally after an hour of futile search we arrived at the GH. It is next to Buhari Hotel, a famous landmark in Anna Salai. If the address of the GH is written along with the said landmark it will be very easy for the traveller to locate it quickly. We wasted more than an hour and our auto stopped at many wrong places before reaching the hotel. On arrival, the men there behaved as if I had brought a prostitute with me, or as if they had never seen a woman at all in their lives. My wife was embarrassed and felt ashamed taking me to task to have brought her to this place. We needed to stay at night as we had our noon flight to Madurai the next day. The room was occupied just before we arrived. It would be professional integrity on their part to have cleansed it first for the next occupants. The escort boy called for the bedding and made the bed in our presence. Even the used liquor bottle was still in the trashcan in front of our door. The toilet was clean with plenty of water. No hot water though but there is no need for that as Chennai has only hot season around the year. The room is value for money and mosquito free, too! There is a TV � a pleasant surprise! We didn�t expect it as the room tariff is cheap. Alas, no Hindi or English channels � all Tamil, that too, hardly five or six! The lodge has a fine dining restaurant on the ground floor. Anna Salai, formerly known as Mount Road, connects to all parts of Chennai City, and buses, taxies and auto rickshaws ply almost into the mid night. Many quality restaurants like Buhari and Saravana Bhawan and cinema halls like Devi Multiplex and Malls like Spenser Plaze are within walk-able distance. The surroundings are decent as there is always police patrol on the road. If the Guest House takes care to post a receptionist with ability to converse in English and train their male staff basic etiquette like not to ogle at female travellers, etc., it is worth booking a room here for an overnight stay if you don't mind small space of the room.

Well I stayed here for total of 3 nights on my way to and fro from Udaipur with Family of 2 adults and 2 kids and i must say it was good experience 1. Best Part is location , my wife wanted accommodation near market and i had to park my car . This infact is the best part . There are many hotels which are more near to market and rated higher on Trip advisor but this is only hotel which has their own car parking 2. Nice, Big Clean Rooms 3. Hospitable Staff and prompt service 4. over look back of Lake from balcony 5.Good Food but a bit over priced , go for options outside if possible 6. Rooms are not sound proof and brace for nosiy neighbors 7 Negligible green area, 8. Average to Good Gym with tread, weights and multi purpose machines 9 . Setup is old but good 10 negotiate for better room rates which otherwise look over priced will Recommend this hotel for people sharing my tastes Stayed December 2013, travelled with family
