We had difficult time to findout the location because of very interior. After search we finally landing up at the hotel. But the good thing about the location is that the hotel located in a natural and green. The road on which the hotel is located is very narrow and full of mud. Parking: The Hotel had covered parking just in front of its receiption. Location: The hotel is in a remote and very interior location to reach near city. A reasonably good view of nature and beautiful hill view. Rooms with natural design They had some small games. The staff was reasonably helpful. We booked double room with an extra bed and when we reached the hotel at 3:30 pm, the room was small, after discussion they have provided another room to accomatate my kids. The person at the reception gave us some good advice on planning for the sightseeing to our driver The Room: We got rooms with good views both side. The room was small but neat and comfortable. The linen was clean, taps and flush were working. The bathroom was OK and reasonably clean. Food & Room Service: Food was very good. Service was nice but immediate food supply was not possible because of they cook after we order. Overall: On the whole, the hotel is a good cottage type and seems to be high rent compare to other hotels where we stayed.

Coorg Hallimane is a nice place if you are on leisure trip. The entire resort is developed on the unique theme of the Coorgy Village Life. Halli Mane I suppose means Red House. Staying here is like staying in rustic idyllic place. The rooms, as you can see from the pictures, are made from wood. Those things which are not wooden, are made such that they look wooden. There is a main building which comprises of 8 rooms followed by a few cottages in the rear side. There is a swimming pool, rain dance facility and garden. Kids enjoy the rabbits and parrots in the garden. Although it is not difficult to locate this place but the signboards are not enough. We knew that it is adjacent to Veerbhoomi therefore we went following Veerbhumi's sign boards which are many. Rooms are airy, with TV dining table and clean bathrooms. However power supply is a problem consequently water. They have generator back-up but the switching is manual which takes some time. In our case that lead to another problem of interruption in water supply, which was pretty long. They have enough parking in form of an open plot. There is a resident in charge and enough boys to look after. But it is a kind of home stay so do not expect service like hotel. You will have good number of food options but you need to inform them well in advance. Boys and the in charge give you their numbers and also respond. The owner himself comes to the hotel in first half with days supplies and if the guests talks he responds nicely. Just a small problem, Coorg is not as such a very great place. If you are living around there or travelling to Karnataka you can add Coorg as destination, but traveling long distances just for Coorg is not recommended. Overall, the hotels in Coorg are over-priced, including this.

MOHAN from CHENNAI, India recommends this hotel - Posted: 12 Jun 2009

The location of this hotel was interesting in that it was away from the hustle and bustle of town and in fact in a very green and quiet countryside surrounded by trees and bushes. For a change one could hear the birds twitter and nothing else. The service at the hotel was indeed personalized - they claim to be a home stay and not a hotel, because one needs to order lunch/dinner at least 3 to 4 hours in advance, but then one could literally order anything that one would like to have. The bed linen was bad and there was just a small slip of a blanket for the two of us. They were unable to provide a spare blanket. The bedsheets were frayed at the corners and need to be badly replaced. The staff were friendly and cheerful. We had a very early checkout - 5am - and were sure there would be no hot water for a bath, but they made sure that the hot water was indeed available. In fact they even threw in a free wash for my car. Overall it was a satisfying experience and wouldn't mind going and staying there again.
