Hotel: Our experience of the hotel was better than expected. Since it is a relatively new property that went operational only in December 2008, it is not very well known. For those of you who don't know, Chomu Palace is about 200 years old and was recently converted into a heritage hotel by Ramada group (it took them 3 years). The place is like a Palace. The lighting during the night time makes it look even better, in fact magnificent. The dining hall gives you a true palace like feel, with royal paintings on the wall and decor. They have a nice swimming pool there. The rooms are well maintained and beautifully decorated. It is a unique combination of traditional and contemporary work that truly give an elegant look and feeling. Apart from the standard rooms they also have Maharani and Maharaja suites. They are huge. Apparently, Maharaja suite contains bed made from silver!! Staff: The staff is very welcoming and helpful. They are keen to show you the whole place and service is great. Excellent hospitality! Drive to the hotel and surroundings: We drove from Delhi to Chomu. When we reached Chomu, on our way to the hotel, in the afternoon we found a terrible traffic snarl. The entry to the hotel is not impressive at all. It is a narrow lane leading to the Palace. You literally have two way traffic on one way street. It took me more tan 20 minutes to get to the palace from about 500 metres distance. The surrounding local market have some nice jewellery and clothes for women. My wife was ecstatic to buy great bangles for prices way cheaper you could find in Delhi. And the quality was great. Overall I believe this place is wonderful. For those who don't know, the bollywood movie "Bhool Bhulaiya" was shot here. This place is certainly a great option for heritage lovers who also enjoy modern amenities. Me and my wife thoroughly enjoyed it.
