After my wonderful stay at Meghniwas, Jaipur (not of the same group though) we reached Jodhpur by noon. My driver took me to the address I mentioned. He said it, "this looks like a shoddy place, as it didn't even have a name board outside." He was so right even without entering the hotel. Decided to check-in, considering it is a busy tourist time for Rajasthan, the hotel seemed to be running almost empty. We checked the super deluxe room but it was not worth staying, so they gave us a suite. In this biting cold the hotel didn't even have a heater. As we insisted to have one, the hotel manager went out and bought one by 10 pm. It made a creaky noise the entire night and didn't have a temperature control system so the room was getting very hot. We had to ask the bedsheets to be changed and the bedding too needs improvement. Got up in the morning, switched on the TV to listen to news and there goes the power. So instead of 2 days, we packed our bags and cut short our stay. Meghniwas, Jodhpur is a hotel with some huge paintings and old type of Rajasthani windows. If the hotel continues to be in the same condition, the only thing I can say is "look for some other option." It is a place with good potential! What the hotel needs is a good caretaker with a vision.
