When I booked this hotel there is mentioned, i) Hotel Name : Wiaba Village Resort ii) Hotel Address : Monsong Village, KALIMPONG, India iii) Hotel Tel. No.: +9103552257457. Before journey I contacted the mentioned phone number and attending person (later we came to know that this person is the son of the owner) told over the phone 'J P lodge' and when I told "is it Wiaba Village Resort?" they immediately says, yes. And I inquired about the road condition and local weather. I contacted him two times before leaving Kolkata and got same experience. When we reached at Kalimpong from Pelling (Sikkim) and asked local people about Wiaba Village Resort, no one could give us the direction. Then I told them about J P lodge (I remember my previous telephonic conversion) one person recognize it, and give direction. After reaching the J. P. lodge, the son of the owner fully denied about the booking of the Wiaba Village Resort. He said the said resort is located 20 to 25 km from that place. the owner's son, he tried to arrange a room for us (We booked 2 rooms for 2 families, but one family returned home due to illness of his son). In the mean time the owner of the lodge came and he said we can rest and took meal at his lodge and after 4:30p.m. he can arranged a car for reaching the resort from that place and we would be paid Rs.600/- for conveyance. I agreed. After that we take our horrible dinner (worst food of my life) of that lodge and entered a room near about 3:00p.m. which was the same in nature of the lodge. The lodge was no water for use and the bed spread bad smell. However, we slept our 5 years daughter and after half an hour the owner son rammed the door and asked we should be vacant the room immediately as other guest waited. We took our baggage and came down to the reception with our luggage and our 5 year old daughter who was in deep sleep. I told him if I owned 2 hotels i.e.Kkolkata and Delhi, can I give my Kolkata ph no. in the booking slip of Delhi hotel (in the booking slip there is clearly mention hotel phone number not contact number)? After waiting another half an hour, a Maruti Omni van reached of the hotel and driver told for going to said resort. When we were just leaving the area, the owner came near the car and rudely said, what is the problem? He argued with us indecently and told he had a 3 hotel ... etc. etc. Then suddenly he asked us rudely whether we paid for 2 meals or not? But I was already requested his son earlier to charge it on us. He was replied that time it would be added with the food bill of the resort. When I told him the fact, he verified with his son and says the amount would have to be paid here itself, I immediately paid Rs.200/- as per his demand. The episode was very insulting to us as we are the tourist not a beggar. After all the incident we reached a village and discover there is a 1 storied building containing 4 rooms one kitchen and 2 common toilet and the so called resort is fully empty and no one found that area, then driver of the car (also owner) was called a villager and broken a kitchen lock and arrange chairs for us and told the so called care taker came within an hour. After waiting an hour one of the villagers came with his wife and opened a room for us. The room and two toilets were very dirty also one toilet had no light. Any way, we were entered the room. Near about 9pm 2 couples were come here and expressed same kind of experience which was very similar of our experience. We stayed 2 days as per our booking schedule and paying much high rate for our fooding. But local people help us lot if not, we were unable to staying that place. Summery of the said RESORT : i) We unable to found and hording/banner or any display of so called named WIABA VILLAGE RESORT. ii) If it is a resort, then it is a latest definition of 'resort'. iii) There is no register of check-in and check-out, as per my knowledge it is purely illegal. iv)Finally, if you want to gain a terrific memory with your family, then you must visit WIABA VILLAGE RESORT !!!
