Flawed Paradise What would you expect from a resort just a few meters from the Konkan coast with a lovely white sand beach and a fabulous view of the sunset? Paradise? We booked a room at the Paradise Isle Beach Resort anticipating the same, but were terribly disappointed. The location While the location was perfect, there were not many signboards pointing to the resort. However, the locals were very helpful and pointed to the right direction. The view was excellent and the ambience of the resort was great. The rooms We booked a couple of cottages, hoping for a bit of privacy during the holiday. However, we were shocked to find that each cottage consisted of four smaller units. As it was late in the afternoon and we were eager to go to the beach, we decided to ignore this issue. The rooms were neat enough, but smelled terrible. The bathroom didn't have a tub, which was a shock considering the tariff charged. In one bathroom, the shower was not working. Repeated requests for a mug fell on deaf ears. The amenities The brochure promised a lot of activities. The kids play area had only a swing and slide. Others were broken. The swimming pool had no water. Staff claimed it was undergoing maintenance. They promised water sports, which were not available in the evening. Ultimately, we went to the beach and used the public water sports available there. Food The hotel promised complimentary breakfast, which was surprisingly good. It was a south Indian breakfast. The watermelon juice was fresh and excellent. The staff there were helpful. We asked for milk for the child, which they provided with just 15-minutes delay. Checkout Checkout was speedy and we had no problems. The receptionist in the morning was pleasant. He asked us to visit again, which we definitely won't!

The location of the hotel is brilliant, located just beside the malpe beach. The hotel rooms are quite decent but the management is not up to the mark. I showed the manager my payment receipt and gave him my driving licence as an id proof and he was trying to swipe my licence in the card machine for receiving the payment. The food is good but the service is horrible. But keeping in mind the other hotels in udupi this one is still the best pick

The location of the hotel was excellent and the rooms reasonable. The service was friendly, but the staff appeared to be overworked. The maintenance of the rooms was atrocious and we actually were given four different rooms until we found one where everything worked and you were not deafened by a discotheque. The rooms were not clean, there was np information about services or telephone numbers and the mini bar was locked. The menu was extensive, but largely not available. For instance out of over 12 deserts only ice cream was available and that was not on the menu. The buffet was basic in the extreme with no choice of dishes. Some good training, a few more staff and good management would make a first class hotel.

The best thing about the the hotel is its location. This hotel is on the Malpe Beach itself. The view from room was excellent. We were in Sea-view room in first floor. This was literally sea view, we can see the sea, the beach, the people on the beach & the activities. That was fantastic. The OCEAN VIEW restaurant was also excellent. View was good, food (specially sea-foods are awesome). Food court was also good. But the rooms are not very cleaned. Too much dust can be seen here & there. I have mixed review for Hotel stuffs. Those who are in reception area are fantastic. I loved their service, but not for the guys serving in restaurant. Specially in the restaurant TROPICANA... that was horrible. SPA was too bad.. Gaming facilities are present only on paper.....I can say little bit expensive compare to the service they provide.
