Nice place to have a relaxing stay. Only drawback being that it is away from Ranikhet proper.

SANJAY from KOLKATA, India does not recommend this hotel - Posted: 22 Jun 2008

We, a family of 2 adults and 2 Kids, stayed in this hotel for 3 Nights in June 2008 1st week. We had booked a deluxe suite consisting on a drawing/living room cum Kitchen on level one and a Bedroom on level two. Both the levels are internally connected thru a wooden staircase. There was a attached toilet and a verandah on both level. There was a sofa cum bed on level one and the suite was spacious enough for 4 adults. On arriving at the hotel, we initially thought we have come to a wrong place. The reception area is a large sparse hall manned by two persons dressed casually. It does not remotely look like the reception area of a 3 star hotel .The attitude of the staff is highly casual. You do not feel welcomed. The property is situated on a hill and you need to walk quite a lot of steps to reach your room. The Suite was dimly lit and there was not a provision of more lights. Upon our arrival, one of the Bedroom light bulb was missing and the verandah and the staircase light bulbs were also missing. The toilet commode on the ground level was malfunctioning. An iron nail had jutted out on the wooden staircase, which we escaped unharmed luckily. The most queer thing I came across were the power sockets. You need to carry around a ballpen with you to push the upper pin of the three pin socket and then try to insert the power adaptor-It was a new learning. The verandah sideways overlooked green valleys and also the inhouse restaurant Kitchen?s back gate?we always had a company of cooks and waiters eagerly peeking over our verandah. The Housekeeping was lousy and you need to have the patience, lots of it, to get things done. The TV worked erratically. The inhouse restaurant buffet menu is baffling-the number of dishes keep on increasing and decreasing as per whims of the management. Food variety and menu combination were nothing to speak about, the taste was bearable. There are no entertainment activities. The hotel has a small open activity area, chargable. The Air Hockey Game machine was out of order. For having Kerala massage, you need to go down four staircase landings, but it was worth it. The property has a private hillock, which gives beautiful sunset views and if you are lucky, you may chance upon the Himalayas from your room windows.
