Tirupati, the holy abode of Lord Venkateshwara is a popular pilgrimage city of the Hindu community. Devotees from across the world visit Tirupati temple  for darshan or to get a glimpse of their favorite deity. Tirupati temple is one of world’s most famous Hindu temples that caters to approximately 40,000 people on a daily basis. Tirupati temple, located on the outskirts of Andhra Pradesh is a group of seven hills known as Tirumala which is at about 3000 feet above sea level.

Undoubtedly, Tirupati temple is ‘The king of all the temples’. It is also one of the richest Hindu temples, receiving donations that are believed to be in tune of millions. The never ending queues of the devotees at Tirupati temple for darshan is a familiar sight.  The temple remains open throughout the year, making this ancient pilgrimage city one of the top tourist spots in India.

Tirupati hosts a number of cultural and devotional events round the year. The city has many other temples from the long gone era, making it one of the most interesting and ancient destination. The easiest and the quickest way to reach Tirupati is taking a flight till Renigunta (nearest airport) and then taking a cab or a bus as per your preference. Tirupati is less than 20 kms away from Renigunta. You can also take a train and get down at Tirupati railway station. The frequency of cabs and buses is satisfactory, considering the rate at which these are used to travel to and from the Tirupati temple.

When it comes to accommodation, plenty of hotels near Tirupati temple are built to cope up with the ever flooding tourists. People here are friendly and warm. Various dharamshalas in Tirupati provide free accommodations to the devotees.
