A home-like place to stay
by sess2016 on
The Alcove Service Apartments felt very home-like -- I could easily rest and recuperate there after a long trip from overseas. The room was comfortable, the Wifi reliable, and the staff kind and helpful, including in preparing regular home-cooked meals during my stay. The staff also had good advice for obtaining a SIM card when I first arrived from abroad. Koramangala was a great area for me because of its proximity to different NGOs and to a main bus stand. Good value and good people!
Clean good quality

Well maintained with good quality furniture and appliances. All you need is your bags and soaps. Everything else is there including man Friday who cooks breakfast, lunch and dinner. Good host . It's more expensive than others but you will be satisfied if you can afford it.
Great looks, but what's the point with that attitude? Also BED BUGS!

I thought it was only me who had an issue with the general attitude of Alcove Bangalore staff, but checking TripAdvisor has shown that others have also had the issue with the attitude.
I stayed for 3 nights, while the looks of the apartment were great, with wooden flooring and excellent natural light entry, the toilets were clean, the towels were ok decent quality too.
The bed was great, except, they had bed bugs. And not a few, a lot of them, because of my odd working hours I didn't want to disturb the service at 4AM etc. I let it slide the first night, the next day they came for room service and I was at office, and even after changing the bedding I had quite a few bed bugs all over.
The wifi is terrible too, the speed + the low quality/badly configured routers made a simple 10 minute job a good 1 hour long chore, eventually using the wifi access point of another floor.
I would wake up randomly itching so badly with red - bitten marks all over my legs and arms. It was truly horrifying.
I had also been extending my trip each day by booking via a TA website because my work wasn't over. I have a feeling this irritated a senior administration lady. The room staff was excellent and polite but the a certain senior administration member is definetly biased against bachelor single room guests, I have no idea why.
As I was staying in one bedroom of a 2BHK apartment, as a security measure I had locked the main door, the next door I was almost threatened that they will charge me the tariff of the entire flat if I do that again. No words again.
I have stayed in far better and cheaper service apartments which have had excellent staffing and administration. This kind of side-lining is not cool.
On the last night of my stay, I wasn't informed that somebody had occupied the other bedroom of the flat, not like it's important for me to know, but it would've definitely made a difference if I knew so that I could have kept volume of television down, not that the other room complained or anything like that, but realizing that someone else is there in the flat would make me a little cautious, I thought there was a thief in the flat with the random sounds till the time I went and checked.
I am definitely not staying at Alcove -Koramangala again, there are far better, cheaper and customized services available which are a lot more warmer to guests like me.
