Heavenly Home Stay amidst Coffee Estate Heavenly Home Stay amidst Coffee Estate

by soumyab848 on September 1, 2019

Well, not writing a review would be a crime for Coffee Bean Homestay. I will try my best to jot down the experience for future travellers to Chikamagalur. We were a group of 6 people - friends and family - coming from Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore - looking for a 2-3 day getaway from our mundane lives. Every year, we go for such a trip to look back at our friendship and relax from our crazy lives. This year, from great reviews, we chose Chikamagalur and Coffee Bean Homestay after about 2-3 days of intensive search on the web. On the outset, I must say that I had heard great reviews about Coffee Bean via word of mouth and also a lot about certain "Mr Nischit"...we were really eager to be there now. We were there from 22 August to 25 August. Just before our travel, we were a bit skeptic as the Karnataka flood were in full swing. The owner very patiently assured us that all was fine and we can commence our travel safely. When we reached the estate, all the reviews and all the hype about this place lived upto its expectations. The overall estate coverage, cleanliness, creativity of the rooms, hospitality of staff, dining (the home cooked meals are just awesome and you will keep licking your fingers), unlimited tea / coffee, the estate walk, the evening bonfire - all in all, we were blown away. And now to few words about Mr. Nischit - you are a rockstar. Nischit blows you away with his hospitality, knowledge about the nature, ecosystem and topics in general. You will feel like talking to him all along to pick on his brains. To top that, he has a terrific sense of humour which let us rolling all along. Thank you Nischit - I am sure we will cross roads in near future (atleast, I will bring all my acquaintances to Coffee Bean atleast once :P ) To summarize, it was a place where we could just CHILLAX. We are back to our mundane lives, but mentally - we are still at Coffee Bean Estate. 1. Approach road - 5/5 - better roads than city roads :) 2. Estate Coverage and Cleanliness - 5/5 - you will feel as if you are in a resort 3. Rooms - 5/5 - very creative, comfortable beds, the view from the balcony is a killer 4. Food - 5/5 - Can I give more than 5? - The 'Malnad" cuisine will blow you away 5. Hospitality of staff and Host - 5/5 - Always smiling staff, and SUPER HOST in Mr. Nischit. Big thank you from all of us !!!

Something for everyone Something for everyone

We had a fabulous stay at coffeebean estate. There is something for everyone all age groups. The rooms and facilities are world class. If you are looking for a quiet, serene, tranquil place to get away from the city into the hills, this is it. Take a book, sit in the balcony, enjoy the views and get pampered. Special compliments to the cook who custom made dishes according to our tastes and preferences. We were blown away by the attention to details, every minute thing was taken care of. We enjoyed our walks around the estate and spotted several rare birds and peacocks. My daughter bonded with all the farm animals that included dogs, cats, fish, turtles, cows and fawns. She made friends with some of them and talks about them so fondly. Thank you Ruchika, Nischit and Santhosh, we could have stayed there forever but unfortunately had to leave to get back to our lives in the city.

Home in the hills Home in the hills

The groovy mountain roads, sprinkle rain and shy peaks peeping through cloudy sky set the perfect beginning for a week of rejuvenation. The amazing hosts at coffee bean, their staff and their pets were the perfect family in the hills. The mind blowing spread of food is the cherry on top of the cloudy icing. Will definitely be back for more, and much more.

Great location and friendly hosts ! Great location and friendly hosts !

Coffee bean estate homestay is situated amidst beautiful coffee plantations about 20 kms away from chikmagalur town, which makes it a perfect place for a silent and relaxing holiday. The drive from the town to the homestay is itself very enjoyable. (They will arrange for a pick up from ckm bus stand @ 600 rs) . The cottages are basic but clean and well kept. They all have separate balconies with estate view which is well suited for having coffee and chatting. The food was also basic but hot and ample portions were served. It was good, healthy home cooked food nothing grand in variety or taste. But the hospitality and service is awesome and makes up for small glitches . The owners, manager and helpers are all very friendly and helpful and all my appreciation for them to continue the same warmth and attention towards guests. They also arrange for sightseeing at separate costs , but we got a little inexperienced and indifferent driver to mullayanagiri and since it rained heavily came back without climbing to the top of the hill. The coffee & betel leaves they serve is fresh and amazing. Overall it was a very pleasant and memorable experience and I highly recommend this homestay. P.S : the homestay has cats and dogs, I understand they are needed in estates but not all guests can be expected to be comfortable with them. For me cats and dogs roaming around in the dining area, sniffing and wagging their tails at my feet while I was having food, was annoying.
