Best family staycation amidst nature. Best family staycation amidst nature.

by Ravi M on July 9, 2018

Best family staycation amidst nature. We stayed in this homestay last year around June during long weekend and I must say this was one of best staycation we enjoyed in midst of nature. We were group of four families and had booked this entire homestay which comprised of 4 tastefully crafted rooms in coffee estate in two by two formation. Homestay amenities includes but not limited to round the clock hot water geyser which runs on wood fire, refrigerator in kitchen cum dining area, camp fire, power backup, small place to play badminton, volleyball, etc. While we reached this place there was some issues with power line but power backup was promptly arranged from evening to night 11pm post which we didn't even feel the need of it due to such pleasant weather. We especially liked the surroundings, food and unlimited coffee :) of this place. Food was local malnad cuisine and we enjoyed it to the core. It is a very beautiful place but do not expect the luxury of a star hotel and I must say it definitely looks better than how it looks in photos. Ms. Subhada and Mr. Surendra were really amazing host and looked after us very well. If you are planning a trip down to Land of Coffee this place will be ideal if you are traveling in groups of families or friends. Don't miss out the coffee of this place its amazing!

We (with my friend) went on a weekday with absolutely no plan or research about the location. Reaching this place (Kelagur) takes around 20 Minutes from chikmagalur Bus stand. The roads were decent half way through with minimal traffic and maximum peace. Property spanned across 4 acres of coffee plantation with the dining hall cum care taker quarters located in the middle. With two rooms adjacent to each other each one is spacious enough to accommodate 3 people comfortably. You have a botanical garden nearby and an annex (coffee shop) which has basic amenities like snacks, mini tiffin and beverages. Garden is kids friendly and will easily take your complete evening if you go around seeing various trees with their names and their medicinal significance on displayed boards. Although we couldn't roam around the places of interest there are 2 pretty good falls nearby which may take an hour's ride from here and a wildlife sanctuary. Its overall a good property with excellent care takers and host. Lunch is not provided usually however, they make it up together in dinner! Food is home cooked with excellent taste and range. Both the days we ended up sleeping tummy full of food and still were left with so much of uneaten stuffs. Special Kudos to Shubhadha the host and also the caretaker who helped us with camp fire making our stay memorable. The place is more than value for money and you can take my word for it!

Me and my friend went to Coffee Land homestay during Christmas and New year eve 2017. We stayed in the property for three days and two nights. We cannot ask for a better place than this and had one of the most memorable stay ever. The location was fantastic, nice greenery and middle of the coffee estate. We could hear the sound of wind blowing and birds chirping from the room throughout my stay which was peaceful and relaxing. Best part was that the rooms were well furnished and were warm naturally. The hospitality provided by Ms. Shubadha was excellent and to appreciate the food provided during our stay was just delicious. Breakfast and lunch was served as requested (both North & South Indian). We had six meals at the restaurant, including breakfast, evening snacks and dinner and all were of different kind and amazing. Thank you #CoffeeLand and #Shubhadha for your Hospitality, Surely you can expect us back soon with our family during summer holidays. Keep up the great service. A perfect natural gateway!!!
