Peaceful and Relaxing Getaway! Peaceful and Relaxing Getaway!

by harrys4u on September 14, 2019

We visited the Homestay in the month of July. The very journey and drive to the Homestay is wonderful. The property is located amidst coffee plantations. You will never have difficulties in reaching the location via GPS. Once you exit the main road, you have to drive through the coffee plantains for just a kilometre and you will find the property welcoming you! The property is owned by Mr. Girish and is supported by his wife, son and staff. Breakfast, Lunch and dinner (including snacks) is included in the package but advice you to call Mr. Girish or his Son for booking the property (you can get a good deal). The family plays a perfect host in taking care of their guests! They have pets (dogs) too and are fun to play with! You will be served morning coffee, Breakfast, Lunch, evening snacks with Tea (you can request for more and they will not disappoint you), per-dinner snacks (non-veg) and Dinner! Mind you that all this is included in the package! The property is very old and with best views facing the mountains and clouds passing by. It is lovely when it rains and the nights are pitch dark! Early mornings are awesome with the most and the cry of birds (peacocks cry out loud here). You could also see woodpeckers pecking trees. Evenings are best spent with Mr. Girish talking and chatting over a couple of drinks!! The property is suits each of your demands for your stay (families, groups, couples). Overall, a great place for a getaway from the urban chaos! A big thanks to Mr. Girish and his family!!

An excellent getaway! An excellent getaway!

I was at this heritage home stay with my family. We had a wonderful time. Nestled in the woods, the sight of the hills is the best attraction. We stayed in the brick cottages and it was excellent. The family who own the home are wonderful people and the food was great too. There is a nice basket ball court there! And some very friendly dogs! Several scenic places are nearby too. We found the road to the homestay good even though we went there in pirthed rainfall. All in all we had a nice time.

Pamper yourself with some much needed tranquility at this gorgeous heritage homestay. A perfect and serene place to take a break from the bustling life of the city and rejuvenate. Located about 20 Kms from the town of Chikmagalur and literally nestled amidst the coffee plantation is this beautiful(350 year-old) property. Owned and maintained by an older couple, they have been running the show for the past 9 years. The main entrance consists of a huge open space adorned with thick wooden pillars with beautiful carvings. There are brick and wooden cottages just outside house where you can accommodate. The cottages are very clean, hygienic, and are surrounded with a lot of greenery. The food is provided by them(cooked by the lady of the house) and I must say that it was absolutely delicious, especially the local dishes. Take a hike outside the property which leads to a water stream and more coffee plantations. Or just laze around in the main entrance by conversing with the couple who would keep you entertained with plenty of stories. I would definitely go back to enjoy one of the finest and gracious hospitality that I ever saw(of course for the tasty food too)...

Location of the home stay is awesome, very peaceful and amidst lush greenery, although it is little hard to locate. At around 22 Kms away from Chikmangalur, out of nowhere really, there is a mud road of length of around 2 Kms that leads to this place. Another awesome thing about this place is the food here..very yummy home cooked food. The host Mr Girish and hostess Mrs Leela were very welcoming. The brick cottages are the best among all types of room followed by the wooden cottages. The rooms are clean, spacious but little dimly lit. The view outside is amazing. Overall the experience was like leaving in midst of a forest and we loved it.

We had been to this place arround June 30-July 1 ....the place is located 25km away from Chikkamagaluru..easily reached out via google maps..once you reachd the place u need to take left side and from thr 2-3km inside estate area..the place is owned by old couples..the best part of this Homestay is the view and the conversation with old couples. The food served was just just wowwww!!!Some mouth watering food wch we tasted are evening pakora, khara kichdi pulivagre and carrot halwa...u can constantly listen whispering of birds specially pecocoks and we are soo lucky to see few peacocks near to ur room. The view from the main entrance house is just speechless...since its home stay please dont expect any room service and one v minute issue we faced is no hot water facility...however the place and the spectacular view made us to neglect this issue
