We were two couples and booked two rooms recently on our visit to Coorg. While my room was just OK, my friend's room's bathroom had an air vent that lead to the staff room! I mean it was big enough for the staff who sleep in the staff room to peep in for sure. When confronted, the staff and even the owner rudely brushed our concerned away saying "you can't see anything through the vent. Don't bother our head!" No apologies, nothing! the receptionists were also passing remarks at us. You can see the images attached for yourself and make your choice. Even the room we stayed the in had one wall fully made of glass opened to the road! it's covered just by a curtain and if the curtain comes off, your privacy also goes for a toss. That apart, the staff cheated us by saying the room is 1000Rs apiece whereas I can now find it on ixigo to be just 600! we did bargain and bring the price down to 650 apiece but the fact remains that they tried to fleece us of our money. Also, the hot water issue, they give hot water only between 7-8 in the morning and they didnt tell us this when we checked in. When we work up after 8 and asked them for hot water they said it was only given between 7-8 and we shouldve woken up earlier! Yet, money is not the big issue here but "peephole" air-vent is outright illegal as per various sections such as Section 345D of the Indian Penal Code and Criminal Law (Amendment) Ordinance, 2013 and is a gross invasion of privacy, yet the owners care two hoots about it.
