We stayed at Serene Homes from 29-Dec-18 to 02-Jan-19. We were a group of 8 friends and had booked all the 5 rooms. Our aim was to spend the New years together amidst nature far from the maddening crowds. It is with these criterias that we were scouting for a play to stay in Coorg. After much research online and seeing the excellent reviews on trip advisor, we narrowed down to Serene Homes. However, since it was our first trip to Coorg, we had our apprehensions naturally. But all our fears vanished when we reached the place, greeted the hosts and saw the kind of arrangements they have made. They just took care of everything from the routine to all our requests and even things that they anticipated we may require as we stayed on (even before we could). Hugely proactive and kindhearted folks. To sum up, here goes: 1) Location and Property - Inside 50 acres of coffee plantation, surrounded by nature and bird songs. They have a river running through their property and lovely trails. This place is about an hour from Madikere in a small place called Kutta close to Nagarhole. 2) Rooms - Excellent. They have 5 rooms with a huge verandah. 3) Hygiene - Excellent, rooms as well as washrooms 4) Staff courtesy - Excellent. Service with warmth and smiles always. Simply always. 5) Food - Exceptional. They serve home cooked food including local delicacies as well as per your request. Next time we go there it will be do more justice to the food. There was variety daily. 6) Hosts - Navya and Prakash are one of the most kindest and helpful hosts we have come across in our travels. Any amount of praise to them is only less. Can you believe they gave us their personal mobile to retain for 3 days since our phones did not have any network? And in spite of repeated request they refused to charge for it. Or for example, on the day we were leaving, Prakash got a huge waterproof sheet to cover our luggage loaded on to the roof of the tempo traveller we had hired. Now who does that? Without even asking? To total strangers. The only regret we have is not being able to spend more time with them. We really had a great time especially the New years eve when they had arranged for a bon fire by the river including bed sheets to doze of just in case, chairs and tables, music system and mouth watering food. This place with their people certainly is outstanding exceeding all expectations. Thank you Navya and Prakash!!
