Good experience Good experience

We were able to stay only for one night because we came here towards the end of the trip. Initially i was bit sceptical to do a home stay, thinking about the service standards, thats why had kept this for the last. But after the stay I REGRET TO DO THIS AT LAST and WANTED TO STAY FOR MORE NIGHTS (probably will come again). The stay was nice, with full of personal touch by the hosts, both of them made us feel at home. Since we were travelling with our parents and small kids we were little worried, but the hosts didnt even give us a chance to complain, from every small need, be it milk for the baby or refiling the dinner, or last minute request to prepapre something else for the kid, they never said NO and helped us out. THANK YOU FOR THIS. Coming to the facility, the place was admist the coffee plantation and very near to the forest (we could see few animals coming near the home stay). They have a tree house where you can sit and relax and enjoy the fresh air and natures beauty. Toilets and rooms were big and clean, though the linens and towels could have been better. They have mosquito mesh so that you can sleep with windows open and enjoy fresh air and hear the birds wake you up. Food was outstanding, all home made, simple and fresh. We could not stop ourselevs from eating. She did a desert for us, fresh mango desert and also shared the recipe. She made us try local coorgi cuisines too. Overall, enjoyed a lot. Thank you.

One of the best home stays in Coorg Kutta One of the best home stays in Coorg Kutta

by Ravirajtilve on March 23, 2019

We were group of 8 people who visited spice glade in march. We drove from Goa to Kutta and reached early morning at 6.30 to our hosts place. Jeswin and shyam gave us the rooms instantly. check -in was very smooth. Their house is located inside big coffee plantation. They produce around 10 tons of coffee beans each year. Mr Shyam was generous in sharing the knowledge of how the business work i.e from planting, maintaining, harvesting and selling . Property is beautiful, Rooms are clean and neat. Their breakfast and dinner spread was delicious. Mr shyam gave us complimentary BBQ and Garlic bread. Jeswin is amazing person and she's always ready to help. She arranged jeep safari for us at last minute. Property has lots of games like cricket, basket ball and badminton , huge place to park your vehicles too. Definitely would like to suggest this place to everyone who visits coorg or nagarhole sanctuary .

Visit to Nagarhole Tiger Reserve Visit to Nagarhole Tiger Reserve

by digsingh on March 4, 2019

We are a group of school friends ( all around 70 years old !!!) who visit a tiger reserve every year. This year it was Nagarhole. Lucky to stay at Spice Glade which is 2km from the gate of the reserve. It is the home of Shyam and Jesvin Cariappa set in their 30 acre coffee plantation. Wonderful staying on this beautiful plantation. Waking to the sound of birds and other animals. The fresh air, blue skies, moonlit nights ,peace and quiet made it feel like paradise.Hospitality by Shyam and Jesvin was exceptional. They told us about the area, organized our transportation from Bangalore and our safaris to the forest. We were lucky to see the tiger,a leopard, deer, bison, elephants, wild dogs, wild boar and more. Jesvin is a superb cook and we all enjoyed the non vegetarian food - chilly pork being very popular with us all !!Besides the meals we were given a very good tea and pre dinner snacks in the evenings. Can certainly recommend this homestay to those wishing to enjoy the beauty of nature and the outdoors in simple but very enjoyable surroundings.

An abode in the forest!! An abode in the forest!!

Strategically located, hardly few kilometres from Rajiv Gandhi National park, amidst coffee plantations.. Peaceful, yet lively, thanks to the warm hosts Ms.Jesvin and Mr.Shyam. The cottages are simple yet cosy. Food is home-cooked and delicious. Last but not the least the hosts arranged jeep Safari on request. Special highlight is their adorable pair of labs Cleo and Rio! They have provision for playing badminton and basketball.

This was our first home stay experience and it was better than our expectations. Everything ranging from the ambience, the rooms, the welcoming hosts, the rooms and especially, the food was great. The chicken dishes were delectable. We got to experience flavorful South Indian delicacies. The hosts were welcoming and a great company. The dogs are friendly and playful. In conclusion, our experience was wonderful and we would definitely visit again. Would highly recommend going there.
