A hidden gem A hidden gem

We ended up here totally by accident but it turned out to be just the perfect way to spend a week in Goa. Nestled away from the main strip near Ashwem Beach these huts and the people who run them are wonderful. Annu & Chinnu who own and run the place are two of the loveliest people you could meet. Nothing was too much effort and a warm smile was always present. The food was tremendous; fresh fruit, cereal & hot food at breakfast always came with endless chai or coffee. We opted to have dinner very night here as the food was simply too good to go anywhere else. Every night a different vegetarian thali, tofu, chickpeas, aubergine, squash, roti, paratha, pakoras and so much more, all prepared fresh and, if you could manage it, seconds were always offered. I chose to do the yoga classes twice a day and really enjoyed the pace and dynamism of Jo. She created a wonderful environment in which to practise, the morning sessions were higher intensity but with lots of options and the afternoon sessions were at a lower pace. I was able to really relax my body and my mind. The accommodation was perfect, great size huts where you can forget where you are tucked away behind all the beautiful plants and trees and while we were there we were lucky enough to have the pool totally to ourselves providing a very welcome way to cool down after a day in the sun. I very rarely go back somewhere as there are too many places to see but this one, this one I have to visit again!

Spent a week at the Banyan Tree as part of a Yoga on a Shoestring holiday. It really is a special place and you can feel the love and care that Annu and Chinu have put into building it all. They are incredible hosts, always on hand and making sure your needs are catered for. The food is incredible! The swimming pool is great. We enjoyed the outdoor shower and felt well protected by the mosquito nets. We walked or took taxis to the beach when not at the Banyan Tree.

Lovely calm resort about 20 mins walk to Ashwem beach or quick taxi to Mandrem. Eco huts are self contained, spacious, have a balcony overlooking gardens, eco toilets (squatting) clean and practical, outdoor bathrooms. Amazing vegetarian food, all cooked on site and made with ingredients from the gardens. Can buy and bring in alcohol if you want but not provided on site Lovely pool and yoga shala. Anu and Chinnu really make this a fabulous place to stay, always smiling and joking, nothing is too much trouble and great at organising trips, taxis whatever you need. Love the fact they rebuild every year

I looked for a place to chill out and i found this place to be ideal and stayed 3 nights here. Staying in an eco hut among the greenery and singing birds was a wonderful and unique experience with visits by one of the friendly dogs living here napping on my balcony, clean room and quiet. The hosts Annu and Chinnu were very guestfriendly and also the staff.I had my meals mostly here which was tasty, indian vegetarian . The pool was great and gave a sense of indulgence. The distance to beach is fine when it's not too hot else the taxiride was short.
