Yoga retreat Yoga retreat

Spent a week at the Banyan Tree as part of a Yoga on a Shoestring holiday. It really is a special place and you can feel the love and care that Annu and Chinu have put into building it all. They are incredible hosts, always on hand and making sure your needs are catered for. The food is incredible! The swimming pool is great. We enjoyed the outdoor shower and felt well protected by the mosquito nets. We walked or took taxis to the beach when not at the Banyan Tree.

Calm eco resort, great for yoga retreat Calm eco resort, great for yoga retreat

by suziirish on March 30, 2019

Lovely calm resort about 20 mins walk to Ashwem beach or quick taxi to Mandrem. Eco huts are self contained, spacious, have a balcony overlooking gardens, eco toilets (squatting) clean and practical, outdoor bathrooms. Amazing vegetarian food, all cooked on site and made with ingredients from the gardens. Can buy and bring in alcohol if you want but not provided on site Lovely pool and yoga shala. Anu and Chinnu really make this a fabulous place to stay, always smiling and joking, nothing is too much trouble and great at organising trips, taxis whatever you need. Love the fact they rebuild every year

A wonderful and unique place A wonderful and unique place

I looked for a place to chill out and i found this place to be ideal and stayed 3 nights here. Staying in an eco hut among the greenery and singing birds was a wonderful and unique experience with visits by one of the friendly dogs living here napping on my balcony, clean room and quiet. The hosts Annu and Chinnu were very guestfriendly and also the staff.I had my meals mostly here which was tasty, indian vegetarian . The pool was great and gave a sense of indulgence. The distance to beach is fine when it's not too hot else the taxiride was short.

My second time there in november, i stayed 4 weeks... The place is better and better, Annu and Chinu are very professional et friendly owner as i never met before I am back home since two month but my mind still there. The cottage are very confortable, the jungle and the garden are so clean and i am very thankfull about all the staff there, they doing well. The food is healthy and fresh, from the breakfast to the diner. It is just the place to be in south india. Love & Light Martial

Relaxing, natural and sustainable resort Relaxing, natural and sustainable resort

by Tanja S on December 28, 2018

Relaxing, natural and sustainable resort. They dont sell alcohol, so the party-people tend to go elsewhere. Clean and beautiful pool. The place fits well if you travel alone. The owners are great and helpful company. Vegetarian food and interesting dinner topics at the table. The feeling of living in the jungle is immersive. Birds yell in a choir every morning. Insects can easily get into the premises, so be observant. However the bedroom is safe with a mosquito net around the bed. Tip: get yoga classes from the teacher called Dawn, highly skilled, smart and mature person the classes are easy to follow. Ive simply had an unforgettable time, will most likely be back.
