I stayed at the Dolrina Guest House this February and all i can say is that its great for its cost. Clean, in a great nice location and the hosts Ramesh and Ketki are extremely helpful and kind, always available to help out with everything you need. I would recommend it for everyone visiting Vagator.

We rented the de-lux room with balcony for 3 weeks and can thoroughly recommend the Dolrina . The de-lux room has two doors , one leading to a small balcony , with both doors open a pleasant breeze blows through . The landing on the first floor is a largish area serving all 3 rooms with table and chairs , a very nice place to sit . The Dolrina is back from Beach Rd by several hundred yards , so the view from the landing is only some quiet bungalows and gardens , the sea can be heard Kietra and Ramesh run the Dolrina very well , helpful in all matters , providing morning coffee and breakfast , making us welcome there . Rooms are clean , delux room has large comfortable bed and large fully functional bathroom with hot water . I recommend this guest house for the quiet person or family , who appreciate being well looked after in a beautiful surroundings , just a short walk from the beach.

I have been visiting the Dolrina guest house for many years, from when it was a single small family run house to a slightly larger set of warm, friendly guest buildings and dormitory rooms. This year I stayed for 4 months and Ketki, Ramesh (Poonam the maid) and Rishi ( the family running it now) made the stay a dream. First the location. set back from the bustle of the Vagator beach road, you could believe you were in the jungle of old Goa. the wildlife from the porch each early morning started the day, Kingfishers, Birds of Paradise, wild pigs and much more wakes you to a blaze of sounds and colour. Although you feel miles away from the commercial side of Vagator, you are at the very entrance to the beach and its bar shacks, three minutes walk and you are on main Vagator beach and a lazy stroll North to Dream Beach or South to what was a nudist beach but now full of vibrant shack bars and music. along the road many stalls, restaurants and Beju the great barber will offer you every service and hospitality possible, all at excellent prices. The Dolrina itself is a family concern with the owners living in the main house and the guest house set back into the garden down a short path. the rooms are great, spacious for one person with excellent wifi and some with rooms with hot water all day/night long depending on your budget. Washing services, bike hire and car hire can all be arranged by Ketki and Ramesh at the nod of a hat and at fair prices. Taxi's to and from the main airport can also be arranged with a simple txt while if you want to send kit and clothing via amazon, they will save the packets and have them ready in your room for your arrival. The whole experience for me ( 60 years young, disabled veteran) was outstanding and everything went without a problem. I even misplaced my scooter one night out ( bit too much Rum) and Ramesh found it after a few hours looking, which shows the lengths they will go to so you can enjoy the holiday. The place is a "budget guest house" and most realise this and of course your days are not spent in the rooms but out and about on the beach, in a bar, restaurant or at one of the many clubs or events going on in the area. If you find the heat too much you can hire a large free-standing fan cheaply but each room has the usual large roof fans to keep you chilled ( power cuts do happen still so take a torch, but these are less and less and add to being back when Vagator and Chapora was only frequented by hippies, like I was). The area is being developed at an ever-increasing rate and there are many upper-marketed, stupidly priced hotels springing up ( mainly for Indian Nationals) but to me the Dolrina is a home from home, with the added advantage of location, location, location, close to the beach you hear the sea, in the jungle to see the wildlife and with service and hospitality that you would only get from your Mother and Father, except, Ketki is a wonderful cook. You can even take a very short amble through the trees to Chapora harbour which sells the freshest seafood each evening or early in the morning to Sharks bakery and get fresh European baked bread and meals. So if you want a most excellent adventure, great hospitality, slick service and a welcome you will never ever forget, go to the Dolrina and I will see you on the steps of the porch as I paint and drink tea watching the sunset over the trees as the cows come home and the resident wild peacocks go up into the palm trees to roost. An outstanding, wonderful place to visit be it short or long stay the family will accommodate your every need if asked.

We were a group of 6 friends. We got a room for Rs 1200 /night which can accomodate all of us. So it was just Rs 200/night/person which was a steal. Try to contact to owner directly as booking.com shows price double of what we pay. Owner was really helpful. They also offer to book scooters for us. We also use to refill our water bottles in our guest house. You can also bring any alcohol to your room. Also eateries ans scooter rentals were nearby. Location was also very close to vagator beach. Overall experience were amazing

Our room was big, clean, bright, and with bathroom and balcony. I stayed here 5 years ago with a friend and when arriving in Goa very late at night, I tried to find this guest house again. We found it, and they accepted us with open arms! We loved our time here, clean, beautiful, peaceful, and the hosts were extremely helpful and kind. They also make the best chai with lemongrass! We really appreciate all our help and loved our stay. PS They can help you with pretty much anything, motorbikes included. Thank you, Ricky and Charmaine
