Lacks Warmth and Hospitality Lacks Warmth and Hospitality

by Sudakshna T on

AC Family Cattage - It is a big enough room and was cleaned everyday, Though there was lizard poop on the bed one day. But I think that can be forgiven in a place like this. AC, geyser, plugpoints worked well. Non AC Cottage - The Non AC cottage is dingy , cramped and depressing -with no sunlight coming in. The bathroom also had a distinct stink coming from the commode. Beds, pillow and bedsheet were clean and comfortable. Hot water was available. We were made to pay the full amount in advance , which pretty much ties you in to the place. Full payment in advance is also an unusual practice in this industry - but we were okay with it after seeing the amazing reviews of the place. There is absolutely no range for internet on the phone in the cottages. They do provide you a dongle on request - but its patchy and I couldn't do my online meetings on them. So do be aware. if you intend to work from there Beach is 5 to 7 min walk from the property. It has security guards from the neighboring resort which makes it safe. It was crowded over the weekend. Weekdays there was beautiful. But the biggest reason I would hesitate to go back is that the place and service lacks the warmth and hospitality that gaons are known for. As soon as I booked, since I plan my travel well ahead, I had informed the proprietor that I would need a late check out on the last day since I was traveling by the evening train. I was assured that my request would be accommodated if there were no bookings - and it was left at that. At 12 noon on my last day I suddenly received a message telling me that check out is at 11 a.m and asking me to check out immediately, with no option for extension - even though I was willing to pay the extra charge. The other option she gave was to take a cottage for double the price which I was not willing to do. I had to hurry back, pack up and leave in an hour's time. I did not appreciate that at all, having spent 4 nights with them - I do expect a more courteous exchange and gracious farewell.

Beautiful experience at Jamboree Creek Beautiful experience at Jamboree Creek

I visited the place with 3 of my friends and stayed for 2 nights only wishing that we had more time to stay for longer. The rooms were really comfortable and clean while also keeping a very Earthy vibe. The open ceiling bathrooms were wonderful to experience with the sky and trees overhead. Priyanka, our host went out of her way to ensure we had a good experience. The pool and the sit out by the pool overseeing the creek was exceptional. We sat out there and enjoyed the views and sounds of nature until late hours. There is a private bridge to the beautiful Ashwem beach from the property that is accessible at all times and you get a fantastic view of the creek while you walk through the bridge. This side of the beach also has lesser crowds so you can enjoy your sunsets to the fullest. Will definitely be visiting again to experience the yoga classes and tranquility that this place has to offer.

I have stayed at Jamboree Creek a number of times over the past 2 years and was lucky enough to spend a week there before Lockdown. The whole place has a very relaxing atmosphere. It is rustic and chique all at the same time. The food is truly amazing - don't forget to take home a jar of banana jam. The swimming pool is gorgeous and the cabins are a nice size with such charming names. Yoga shala is an added bonus with classes daily. I plan to return as soon as I can. They have beautiful cats that set the bar high for relaxation

we had the best stay at Jamboree, each detail is so pretty and well thought out. Our cabin was adorable, I loved the outdoor shower, the food was delicious (thank goodness because we went at the very beginning of the season and it was still monsooning, so we spent a LOT of time in the cafe haha), and the pool is just beautiful. My favorite part was for sure the private beach access, which is SO special if you've been to the other crowded beaches. Priyanka and her team were so welcoming and lovely throughout our stay. Everything was perfect. I can't wait to go back and will definitely suggest this to friends and family!
