Most people who are traveling to or through India are people in surch for new experiences, special encounters. People who want to kind of open their souls for things they feel exists, but haven't encountered yet. Open minded people, determened to fulfill their curiosity. Now if you combine the above with a place, in this case a hostel, one that is situated in one of the most open minded areas in India - talking about Goa - it might end up as a revealing and pleasant journey inside your soul. Funky Monkey Hostel was the hostel I choosed to stay and it became Home. Owner, manager, staff, they all became familiy to me. I mean, sure, there might be other hostels in Goa who, like Funky Monkey Hostel, will provide you with pretty cheap, suitable and clean accommodation, delicious indian food, chillout area and a rocking bar, beach and party nearby, yoga sessions, good and usefull information, special tours, bike rental and all of this stuff. And yes, most of them will also treat you with a human based respect. The difference with Funky Monkey Hostel is, they make you part of their beautiful open minded, sometimes chilled lazy, sometimes flashing energetic community, just by being themselves. Ofcourse there is an owner, a manager and an executive manager, an "Aunti" who does the cleaning and cooks superb indian food, a young receptionist who tries to figure out how life realy works (LOL) - but it's this special family-atmo that they create while doing their job, that makes every visitor participate in this chilly family feeling. To me it truly was a journey inside my soul, generated and inspired by Funky Monkey Hostel and all the sick minded beautiful people I met there. A journey filled with love and well sheltered by the warm and tender environment that Roheat and his staff have manage to create. Luv ye Funky Monkey, stay as you are, see ye soon at the BAR!
