Small attractive hotel in a historic Indian architecture. Big, comfortable rooms and excellent service and food, Surprisingly energy friendly. Memorable breakfast talks with the owner. A hidden gem in Jaipurs busy centre!

This is a beautiful property owned an run by beautiful people. Our stay was thoroughly enjoyable. My mother and I felt at home and at ease. The staff fall over themselves to pander to your every whim, almost anticipating what it is you want before you even ask. From refreshments served as a wake up call at your request in the morning, free escort over to a neighbouring hotel to use the pool facilities, dining out in the courtyard which is in itself an oasis away from the busy Jaipur Streets, this hotel cannot fail to satisfy the need for authenticity and charm. We partipated in the Cooking Demonstration run by the hotel owner, another must and slso enjoyed a show from some local pupeteers. I would love to return one day and would highly recommend this Guest house to any travellers. Namaste

What a great place for your base in Jaipur. The Dera Mandawa is ideally situated close to the centre of Jaipur and within walking distance of the historic centre. But as soon as you step inside and into the enclosed courtyard you feel at home and secure from the hectic surroundings. Its twelve suites are set around the peaceful courtyard which is planted with trees and exotic plants and the sounds of the burbling water and birds. It is here that you can take breakfast and dinner, watch the entertainments or have a quiet drink and a chat. The suites are very characterful, large, clean and have all that you need for a comfortable stay. However, the hotels best asset are the hosts, Mr and Mrs Durga Singh. It is their home and they make you feel part of it, from the initial welcome, hosting meals and the evening entertainments. Mr Singh is always available to provide information and advice, helping you to get the best from your stay in Jaipur. Indeed, all the staff at Dera Mandawa are helpful, professional and charming. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, it was the highlight in Jaipur.

Local Jaipur charm. Local Jaipur charm.

We went for a cooking experience and were not disappointed. Durga Singh and his charming wife were the most delightful and informative hosts and we ate what we had prepared. They have turned their home into what looked like a beautiful boutique hotel nestled in old world charm. We did not stay there but wished we had. A good reason to return.

This really felt like being a guest in a private house, just individuals no groups, with the host Durga Singh patrician to a T, marvellous reception with (his aristocratic wife) the ambience service and staff beyond reproach. A limited number of rooms around a courtyard (12 only I think) Breakfast and dinner well prepared and served and reasonable Well placed just outside the city walls near the market One caveat was the "cookery course" which was fun but wildly over-priced (or our charge), negotiate with caution
