What a fantastic place! What a fantastic place!

by Sinettravellers on March 9, 2019

We loved this Haveli, had two nights here. As you arrive outside, you have no idea of how beautiful and peaceful is the Haveli on the inside. It is an oasis of calm as soon as you enter the wonderful sunny courtyard, shielded from the noise and busy streets of Jaipur. We had an afternoon in the courtyard reading our books, very peaceful and relaxing. The rooms are palatial, the food and the service excellent. You are brought tea and biscuits to your room at a time of your choosing before breakfast. The samosas at breakfast were amazing, the best I have ever had. Mr. Singh the owner is a lovely man and can tell you many stories about life at the Haveli. He runs a cookery class as well as the Haveli. The puppet show laid on by locals was interesting and quirky, no charge to watch but you can buy the puppets if you want afterwards! The icing on the cake was superfast broadband throughout the Haveli. Stay here if you're in Jaipur, you won't be disappointed!

Very welcoming, boss man was lovely and had great attention to detail. The room was stunning and the service was great... the best bit was tea in bed in the morning! Puppet show was amusing and the dinner was tasty. The courtyard area was lovely and relaxing.

Best Hotel in Jaipur! Best Hotel in Jaipur!

This really is the best place to stay in Jaipur. It is on a very busy road and the exterior looks basic. But walk through and you are in a haven of beauty and culture. We did not feel it was noisy. Mr. Singh as many have written is a very knowledgeable man and will sit with you discussing the history of his hotel and family. A very kind and sincere man. The hotel feels like a magnificent home. Our room was extremely large and was beautiful! The service at all levels is excellent. The morning tea brought to your room daily (at a time dictated by you) was charming and most welcome. The food is absolutely delicious. We had the vegetarian thali which was different each night. The breakfast too was very good. The puppet show was really charming/authentic and not the commercial ones you see around Jaipur. An excellent stay. We were sad to go!

You pull off the busy road, amazed that the quiet courtyard youre expecting could be located so close to the urban hustle, and suddenly youre in your home away from home, a guest in an historic home that has found that perfect balance of comfortable and luxurious, nothing too posh but all spaciously organized with a eye to rich design choices. Your host and his staff are eager to please, provide simple entertainmenta puppet show, kite flyingand meals of quality. We hated to leave after just two nights. And those who like their morning coffee/tea in their room so they can linger while dressing before going to breakfast will appreciate that special in-room service.

Wonderful place Wonderful place

We spent three nights at the Dera Mandawa. Our room was on the ground floor and was huge with an extremely comfortable bed and an upper gallery to add to the atmosphere of staying in this heritage property. The owner Mr Singh and all his staff were warm welcoming and extremely helpful when we had to make changes to our plans when my wife became unwell for a short time during our stay. One word of caution for light sleepers. The Dera Mandawa is very close to the railway station and a Mosque and you are in a busy city so I would recommend earplugs. However please do not let this put you off .
