Perfect place for family vacation Perfect place for family vacation

by 330priya on January 6, 2019

My family of 12 stayed in Jai Vilas over the new year. It is a perfect place to have a family get together. The entire place has a heritage feel to it and the hospitality extended by Mr. Singh is impeccable! All the rooms are very spacious. The place has a traditional "Aangan" architecture. You get your personal space as well as a beautiful common seating area. We welcomed the new year with a bonfire set up and delicious home cooked Rajasthani food. Mr. Singh is one of the best hosts I have stayed with. By the end of the stay it started feeling more like we are visiting a relative's place as he was hosting us so warmly and going extra mile to make our stay comfortable.

A charming warm home that will win your heart A charming warm home that will win your heart

We were a group of four girls stayed at Jai Vilas for a two days. Rajasthan is legendary for its hospitality etiquette, courtesy and warmth. Jai Vilas epitomises all this and sets benchmarks all homestay owners should aspire to. First of all we arrived in the wee hours of morning and Joy thought nothing of himself opening the gate and hauling all our suitcases up. He is a complety hands on person and you would be floored by their courtesy , warmth , impeccable social graces ready to help you out with suggestions and planning your shopping and sightseeing . They really go that extra mile to make you feel at home . The staff is truly lovely. We could not meet Joy's wife as she was traveling , but her touch was to be seen everywhere in the elegant and warm inviting charm of the rooms and dining area. The rooms and common area are immaculately clean and pretty . We asked for Lal Maas for dinner one night and were treated to not just one the best preparations of this signature dish but a fabulous feast. A billing goof-up during shopping in the market held up some of our group for a few hours and it was inexcusable late till they got back to Jai Vilas and we all sat down for dinner, but Joy was such a gentleman host, he kept us company till we were done, made sure we ate well, and only after we were done ,that he went down to join his mother for dinner. His mother is full of joi de vivre and if you have time you will really enjoy a wonderful conversation with her. I really regret that I could not spend enough time at this beautiful home for we were there for a really short time , and in and out of the rooms . I would have loved to sit in the long verandah for a few more early mornings and evenings, spend time talking to aunty and yes not turn up horribly late for dinner.

We arrived late in the night...There was no one to receive us, since the owner had missed the date...So we had to wait for 30 mins outside...He arrived and apologised and welcomed us...We were hungry...When we informed the owner, he himself made us some toast and omelette and some hot tea...Wonderful human being he is...Only the owner was there , his wife was traveling...So through out our stay he made us feel comfortable and ensured all our needs were taken care of...One evening we had also dinner...it was one of the best dinners we had in Jaipur...Only feedback was the breakfast took time...we had to wait for long till the breakfast arrived...may be because the owners wife was not there and the kitchen staffs was delaying it....Overall it is a beautiful house...Rooms are clean and spacious...The owner is a warm and wonderful person...Thanks for opening the door of your house to travellers like us....

The hotel is Jaipur was a nice warm place to stay. The basic breakfast served was pretty decent with toast, eggs and fruit. All in all a good place to stay at Jaipur with clean rooms and restrooms. The hosts were very hospitable and took care of our every need. They also helped us plan our day around Jaipur.
