A place to relax A place to relax

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful place. The staff were incredible. Also Nizam, our driver, was amazing. So knowledgeable about Jaipur and wonderfully accommodating. I would really suggest requesting him as your driver as he showed us many interesting places that we would never have known about without his guidance and help. Go on a village walk, it was a great experience.

Samode Palace is a comfortable heritage welcoming place to stay in a typical Indian village. The owners are the ruling aristocratic family of Rajputs for centuries and they run good heritage hotels with lovely amenities.

Impressive building, much better rates direct from the hotel Impressive building, much better rates direct from the hotel

We stayed at the Samode Palace at the end of August. It was supposed to be one of the highlights of our trip and was the most expensive hotel we had booked. The building was impressive although overall we found it a bit dated and over priced. I booked via I-escape at 200 a night (for 2 nights) only to find the rate being advertised at 80 from the hotels reception. When I asked why there was such a big difference to the price that I paid I wasnt really given an acceptable or clear response. The room was impressive and big (they did mention that they upgraded us to be fair) very grand but felt a little stuffy and dated for our personal taste, it had a few large dark rugs within it which didnt smell too good either. There was also a strong smell of bat droppings walking from the main hotel through the passage down to the restaurant. The restaurant was pretty good and the service was great there, the guy at the pool was very attentive too (the pool on the roof was far nicer and more modern than the main one below). Reception staff werent overly friendly I have to say. Unfortunately British Airways strikes meant that we had to cut our trip one day short and were not able to stay the 2 nights at the Samode Palace as planned. My booking was non flexible but I asked if the hotel would refund the one night which they refused. I then asked if they would consider charging me for the second night (that I was unable to stay for) at the rate that was advertised at the hotel rather than the higher rate I had agreed to pay in advance (via iescape) again they refused. I felt this was a bit unfair. I experienced much nicer hotels in Rajasthan which had a lower rate and would highly recommend Raas Jodhpur and Suryagargh In Jaisalmer for a far superior hotel experience and genuine 5 star service. I wouldnt stay at Samode Palace again.

I am pleased to say that my stay at Samode Palace was excellent and has surpassed all my expectations. The staff was very wonderful and catered to my every need. They gave me the option to select room as my need and preferences. The room was impeccably clean and all the facilities were in perfect working order. Most important thing, food was marvelous. I wish I could have stayed one more day. Thank you for your excellent hospitality, and I hope to stay at this group's property again.

SAMODE PALACE, a beautiful place with super amazing hospitality, the staff is really courteous, foods each and every thing tasted good, rooms were quite neat and clean. The traditional beauty is well taken care of. The roof pool is a pleasure to swim in.
