Wonderful and welcoming! Wonderful and welcoming!

This beautiful guesthouse made our time in Jaipur extra special. We loved our nicely decorated big room, the wonderful garden and patios, and the great dining room. The staff were very friendly and helpful, offering great recommendations and going above and beyond to ensure our comfort.

Lovely Hotel Lovely Hotel

The General's Retreat is an oasis. The place is lovely with expansive grounds, which a few peacocks roam. Our room was very comfortable and the breakfast was wonderful. The staff was very helpful. Surinder booked train tickets for us, even got us a senior discount.

Spacious and clean Spacious and clean

This was a lovely retreat to stay at during our stay in Jaipur. Our room on the first floor was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the service was great. The breakfasts are plentiful and tasty and made to order in terms of eggs, toast, tea or Indian menu etc. Lunch and dinner is more of a set menu at a fixed price so we found that more restrictive and ate out a lot. The retreat is close to the Pink City centre, so it is well situated. The plants and trees everywhere definitely give this place a retreat feel. Perfect for backpackers or those traveling on a budget.

Comfortably Ok Comfortably Ok

by PanamanianWanderlust on January 7, 2018

We had a very big room, near the garden. They offered tea when we arrived (which is very common as a welcome drink in many places) and then charged it when we checked out (it was not not expensive though). However, service was always friendly and they always greeted us with a smile. We didn't feel the room was very clean, actually the shower had a few hairs wich is unacceptable for me. The bed was clean and comfortable. We had a driver, so location was good for us. And at nights we used Uber to go to other restaurants, which was very unexpensive and convenient. It was an ok experience overall.

Beautiful place. A retreat in the real sense. Centrally located with garden. Privacy and security good. Maintenance and cleanliness is an issue but it can be easily taken care of if the owners are little more active in running the place. The place needs their personal touch. Staff need to be better trained. Tea kettle could be provided in rooms.
