Honey Valley Homestay sits at a fabulous location real high up in the hills, amidst amazing fauna and flora. Travelers need to park their vehicle at a designated parking space on the main road then take a four wheel drive up to Honey Valley. That half ride will set the tone for the coming stay. It joyous if you look at it as adventurous but will feel ridiculous if you are not out there for some fun. So choose wisely. The family hosting us at Honey Valley were gracious and accommodating to our requests. A later dinner once, an impromptu breakfast on the day of departure were all catered without any hassles. The location of this homestay is fabulous but the stay itself felt wanting. Cleaner sheets, regular vacuuming could rid the rooms of their musty place. It's a tough place to maintain as it rains around the year and access it limited. I'd recommend Honey Valley for people wanting to hike up Kabbe or Tadiandamol and those who don't mind spending time in some stunning silence with cicadas for company.

This place is located in Kakkabe approximately 25 kms from virajpet. The home stay is located in the peak and only 4 wheel drives are recommended. They arrange the vehicle to be picked up and dropped. The place is beautiful and not much of activity there. However one of the most scenic home stay and trekking is possible with prior information for the hosts to arrange the guide. This place was regarded as one of the highest collector of honey. They can accomodate close to 50 people and they have various cottage ranging from 2 beds to 6 beds. The food is veg and tasts good. Non veg and snacks will be provided on request and with prior notice to hosts. This staff are courteous and helpful. Overall a must visit home stay.. Please do not expect luxury service or Amenities.

went here looking for a post retirement place. but the place turned out to be a like an old age home. dull and depressing. from food to ambiance to company, everything was very uninspiring and dampening spirits.

Great location wasted by owner Great location wasted by owner

Excellent location with lot of fauna including snakes and frogs, and even a private waterfall. We booked only to do herping in the area and specifically asked and paid to book a naturalist. On arrival we were handed over a book and ask to look for frog species by matching them for the book, as the "naturalist" had gone for a holiday. The owner did not even have the courtesy to inform this in advance so that we could have planned elsewhere and not wasted our one day. The stay is very basic (and more so for the price), and if no herping was possible then would have stayed in a cosy hotel in coorg, and not choose this shabby homestay. To add insult to injury, on our way back (in their off-roading vehicle) we wanted to shoot a waterfall. The driver dumped us on the way with all our luggage. Had it rained (it was rainy season) we would have drenched with our entire luggage and cameras. Would completely avoid.

This is something you should stay at because all the sightseeing spots are everywhere. Warmly and familial approach by the owners and the best Kodagu food to energise. the local is green and dense. Little far from the main centre but totally worth. Those who are not interested in such zones should not even think about it.
