Retreat 'n Manali
by itis_kg on
Had a fabulous stay at Retreat cottages, Aleo, Manali. Sincere thanks to Sahil, caretaker and Atish himself, the owner of the property. The cottages are aesthetically beautiful having traditional Himachali architecture in backdrop of wooden and concrete structure. Every cottage has a private lawn that leads you to forest outlined by ancient cedar trees. The 3BHK cottage is a duplex with an Attic. The wooden work in the house is such a delight to see and makes you feel at home in mountains. The cottage is well maintained with cleanliness as its hallmark. All rooms have a fireplace and radiators that keeps the rooms cozy even when its freezing cold outside. They give one crate of wood as complimentary which is usually sufficient for a day. They have an in-house kitchen that serves home cooked food. The menu items are limited but whatever is there is best. We really liked the Aalo Puri in breakfast and Dal Sabzi in dinner. First dinner was not very pleased to our taste buds being little spicy, but after the feedback every other meal was delicious. There is a fully furnished kitchen with modern amenities and plenty of cookware if you are in mood to cook yourself. Also to mention, Mr Atish runs a restaurant in Mall Road that delivers food to the cottage. So, the food options were great. I will strongly recommend a visit to the his restaurant "Corner House" whenever in Manali. We tried Masala Trout fish, Pizzas, Burgers, Cappuccino and they were AMAZING. Not to forget, Atish had been extremely helpful and kind to all our asks. He has strong local contacts and that is always going to be an asset for his guests. So - thank you Retreat cottages for a memorable vacation at your place - and yes it was truly a Retreat!
