Hidden Jem in Manali! Hidden Jem in Manali!

by VibhorT11 on August 10, 2019

We have had a long road trip and on our final leg we were looking for a cozy place to just relax. Found this gem - Shoble Pine Royale hidden away from hustle-buslte of now noisy traffic in Manali. I just fell in love with the room and the view from it. Rooms are done so nicely and in the night you can hear the river flowing down which helps in such a awesome sleep! It was awesome to find this place and stay here! Mr. Deepak and his staff was very courteous and helpful. Prompt room service and awesome food on offer along with bonfire when needed made it even more amazing. Too bad my holidays were getting over else, I would have extended my stay here. :-)

The photos of the place looked great and the staff is indeed very nice, as mentioned in other reviews. Location wise the hotel is also well situated if you like being a bit far from the madding crowd. BUT its not a professionally run property, the bed linens are not very clean, the loos are pretty bad, and the food leaves a lot to be desired. I could see myself there happily as a student in a group who doesnt care so much for the niceties of a fancy hotel, as an adult with some ideas of what I need from a hotel-I cant see myself going back there!

Quiet, Far from Crowd, Isolated, Pictursque, best for couples Quiet, Far from Crowd, Isolated, Pictursque, best for couples

The hotel is situated only 15 mins (from clubhouse) ride (by hired scooty) from the city crowd. Manali now has become very crowded, which makes it noisy and this hotel location gives you all the quietness and isolation from the noisy streets of Manali. As the city is at an approachable distance from the hotel, I would suggest renting a scooty or bike. The hotel staff will arrange it at extra cost if asked. The staff is extremely polite, courteous and very honest. They will go the extra mile to advise you if you need any. Deepak (If I recall the name correctly), has suggested us to take another less popular route to the Solang Valley. The route went through the untouched natural beauties of villages on the mountain, waterfalls and at one point we found ourselves driving through the clouds without any traffic jams. I fell in love with the route and spent a high-quality beautiful time staring at it (for a long time). Deepak also came forward to help me from falling into trouble while I was returning the rented bike. The renter was claiming that I have smashed their bike and I must pay for the damages and even was trying to scare me of bad consequences if I do not accept his terms. At that Deepak took the matter into his hands and ensured that I do not have to pay for any such fraud claims. HATS OFF to DEEPAK and to the staff of Shobla Pine. The rooms were clean and cozy. CONS: The way to Shobla pine has no street lights, so I would say, drive slowly at night. But it does not become dangerous due to people but due to nature. There is small parking at the hotel, so if you are bringing a car (even Alto) manoeuvring at the parking area will be a big challenge or I will rate it impossible. I saw this when I hired a cab (Alto) for the bus station, the cab driver had to take his car in reverse up to a good distance downhill.

Shobla Pine Royale is nestled on the hills of Manali. It is a short ride from the Club House (2 Kms) and is situated at a perfect location. The views from the rooms are unbelievable. I have traveled to many places but have never woken up to these views. Take the Attic rooms so that you wake up with a view which has clouds, mountains and waterfalls. Even the rooms on the lower floors have great views but these attic ones have an extra window right in front of your bed. It is truly unbelievable and you have to see it to believe it. The staff in the hotel are very helpful and would go the extra mile to get you whatever you need. Deepak is the manager there and is very helpful. The food is great and breakfast can be ordered in the room or you can have it in the dining area with a bon fire. A bonfire can also be arranged outside with wonderful views of the mountains. They have multiple services like bike rental etc. It was a great stay, we were 2 couples and 2 kids and all of us really enjoyed. Manali as a city is very difficult in terms of moving around. There is traffic all the time everywhere and hence an ideal day would be to get beer and sit in the cottages and enjoy the views (You will not regret this decision). There is a cafe located very close to the cottages where you may go and relax. There are very few people who visit it and hence you can have the place all to yourself. (Cafe Rock View). The hotel is pure luxury at a nominal price. P.S - There is no Card machine here so you should be carrying cash.

Location of hotel is very good. It's calm here, the river flowing down can be reached within 5min. The food and the service is also very good. The staff is very cooperative and gentle. Rooms and bathrooms are very clean and hygenic which is the most important for me. Would love to visit again.
