Decent place to stay Decent place to stay

Similar to other reviewers, I found this hostel to be very noisy and not very clean at all. The location is alright but it was quite difficult to find as there is no sign on the outside and you have to get in through the back alley. If you are a solo traveler it might not be for you as the manager does not stay on site and you might be the only person in there at times. However the manager does go above and beyond to help you out and he certainly made our stay there much more pleasant than it would have been otherwise.

Not a 'bed and breakfast' Not a 'bed and breakfast'

The pictures that are posted were taken when this hostel was clean. We had dirty socks in our room, a towel with dead bugs on it in the bath room and no hot water and no water at night. If you just want a cheap place to stay with no amenities then this is your place. If you want to feel safe and clean even at a basic level then do not stay here.

Fantastic Host and Lovely Decor Fantastic Host and Lovely Decor

We really enjoyed this guesthouse. Lavy, the owner, is soooo extremely friendly and kind and helped us arrange transport from the airport, as well as trips around Delhi. He even called each morning to see if there was anything he could pick up for us for breakfast, which was such a caring touch. My friend stayed in the one-bed room, while I took the three-bed dorm room. She found the room quite lovely and comfortable, and we enjoyed hanging out on her balcony in the evening and morning. Overall, the feel was so homey, and the decor was quite nice. South Delhi is a bit far from some of the major sites, but Qutub Minar isn't too far at all, and the metro station is right around the corner from the hotel. We loved it here, and I would recommend this to anyone coming to Delhi.

Fantastic host makes up for a lot of shortcomings Fantastic host makes up for a lot of shortcomings

Slumber in is an adequate place to stay if you plan on exploring Delhi for a few days. It's unique in that the guest house itself is okay but the host is so fabulous that it makes up for almost all he shortcomings. The Slumber Inn is located in Southern Delhi which in itself isn't too bad. You are located in an authentic neighbourhood with restaurants, shops and everything you could possibly need conveniently available. There are a number of important sights and parks nearby and the area is well worth exploring. The local subway stop will take you anywhere you need to go. On the other hand; it a good 15 minute walk down crumbling streets with no sidewalk to get to the subway. The authenticity of the neighbourhood means your located down an alleyway which I wouldn't want to walk if I was a woman. It's noisy day and night with people up and partying into the evenings, dogs barking throughout the night and workers starting their jobs early in the morning. I would have to say it was the noisiest room I've ever stayed in. There are rooms in the back away from the street which I think would be quieter. The room is large with a nice queen sized bed and adequate storage. There's a shower with a small water heater and enough hot water for a quick shower. Better than most in India. No complaints about the room itself. There is a large common area with comfy couches and lots of seat. Books and maps available. Large fully operational kitchen and a large table for eating. The place could be cleaner...much cleaner. There is a woman who comes in one a day and cleans for about an hour, mostly washing dishes and mopping the floor. The rag she uses for washing is disgustingly dirty and the dishes are similarly gross. When I looked for a cleaner cloth to wipe out a glass I couldn't find one. There were cigaret buts left in an ashtray for my entire 5 day stay. The mat leading to my room looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months if ever. The tray in the washroom was metal and was rusting. Instead of replacing it it was covered by a cloth that was similarly dirty like the mats. There was clutter and things all around which I thought would have been better throw away and not left out to collect dirt. The place had the feel like it needed a good full day cleaning, a thorough tossing of junk and replacement of mats, towels, cleaning supplies, etc. If the place was clean it would actually be a pretty cute please to stay. Despite these complaints, which are not trifling, I enjoyed my stay in Delhi immensely, strictly because of the host. He was incredible. He personally met me at the airport. He sat down with me everyday and went through itineraries for my stay. He made excellent suggestions for restaurants and bars. I feel like I saw so much more in Delhi strictly because of the time and effort he made in making me welcome and assisting me in seeing the sight. I do recommend The Slumber Inn. It's not for everyone but it is kinda a cool place to live like a local and get super high quality advice for your stay. It's disappointing because I think with a deep cleaning this might be one of those places you visit and talk about forever for all the right reason. For now a qualified recommendation and a focus on all the wrong reasons are all I can provide.

The host, "Luvy", helped guide our taxi to the place in Saket when we arrived late at night. The hostel consists of a three bed dorm, one bunk, top and bottom, plus a double bed. My friend and I stayed in the private room with a double bed and private bathroom / shower. Room was nice and clean, shower full of warm water, free coffee, tea and wifi. But most importantly, you feel safe and well taken care of by the host. Definitely staying a day more and would not hesitate to recommend the place.

Demo Trip There is only one 4-bed dorm with ensuite bathroom and two double private ensuites, so it's advisable to make a reservation beforehand. All the rooms are nice, clean and very spacious.
