The room was clean, basic but larger than average and it really had all you needed the water was hot, the service superb and even the WiFi worked!!! Great value for money. The host was very helpful and made our stay perfect.

Lovely guesthouse, good value, the owner Mano was extremely helpful giving information and let me use his phone to iron out a flight problem. Located on the edge of the French Quarter, great spot, restuarants close by (including the excellent India Coffee House). Nice chill out/communal terrace. Pondy is a great place to chill out for a while if you need a break from the hurly burly of South India, tranquil with a great seafront.

I have been to all around the world and in India this is one of the finest guest house I found. Lonely Planet again spotted out a gem! The owner Mr.Mano, is a marvelous man helping you in every sort of way and he explained the map of Pondicherry clean as light, , that I was out walking next! The G.H is located at a fantastic location. 2 mins to Aurobindo Ashram, 3 mins to Promenade beach and all the happening places of Pondi! Such a beautiful French quarter just a minute away! Loved it! The room Mr.Mano gave me the best room with a grand view of the city from the balcony. Go for AC Room. Room big and spacious and bathroom clean and equipped with all basic necessity. And there would be no disturbance! Backpackers like me, Indian coffee house is just two mins walk, so it would help in filling up the hunger in cheap. Pondi is a place where the best way to see is to walk! For Auroville, take an auto, updown done with 600INR. The locals are lovely people. And do try speaking French in French Quarter, the place of vibrant colors!

I stayed there for 6 days January 2018. Everything is very clean, the balcony opens on the street so you would be in the middle of local life - but it seems people go sleep early and at 21.30 the street becomes quiet and it is very nice to sit then on the balcony to read something and drink good wine - the nearest shop is 2oo m away. It is very basic place, but very ok for low budget. My single room cost 1100 Riyals (13 euros) per day, simple and nice, large bathroom. The hall on the 1 floor is amazing, the owner Mano stays there during day time and he is very helpful and nice. Wifi works great at the hall, but it was quite weak at my room (room nr 10, the farthest point from the hall) The location of the guesthouse is great - restaurants and shops are nearby. Two pictures here in tripadvisor with the pool are misleading - there is no pool, other pictures are genuine.

Last January-2018-I spent 4 nights at thi hotel/guesthouse and was quite pleased with what I found.I want to pay tribute to Mr Mano at this point who took my reservation over the telephone.He was,at all times,pleasant,friendly and helpful and seems to take a genuine interest in his guests.The room that I was given was adequate in size,clean with good air-conditioning.There was plenty of hot water in the en-suite.One problem I encountered was street noise.The traffic was VERY loud until,maybe,1.00 in the morning.Then the dogs took over and that noise continued frequently until 4.00 or 5.00 am.Sleep was difficult.Nevertheless,it's a pleasant place to stay at,friendly and charming and a fairly short walk to the beach area....I am happy to give it 8 out of 10.
