Don't go there! Don't go there!

by zo_s2345 on

We spend there three nights and the beginning was not the worst. We've could check in earlier and the room was big and the balcony okay. There isn't a bathroom in the room, you have to share one toilet and the shower with the whole family. It's really dirty and you don't get sheets for your bed. For the third night we had to change the room. In the new room we're a lot black spiders on the bed and you could here everything from the toilet. The shower just had cold water and the toilet was really really dirty. At the end we had to pay more because of wrong informations from the family members. If you want to get a room in udaipur there are a few more options which will make you happier than this guesthouse does!!

This has got to be one of the worst places I have ever been to. After checking in we picked up our bags and walked straight back out. We paid in advance on & once seeing the room & common area I called them right away to negotiate a refund, this required the hotelier to only reply to an email they sent (which he was incapable of even turning on the computer) even talking to them on the phone himself he didnt seem to know what was going on. The smell of whisky in his breath was disgusting & was incredibly frustrating to deal with! The common area was terrible, in disrepair & half of it had been dug up, it was like a construction site. The common shower & sink has obviously not been properly cleaned in months if not years. When we saw our room it did not even have a lightbulb, when asked about this he said he would go and buy one from the shop. Loose wires in the room & the rest of the place made it feel very unsafe. The room was dusty and extremely dirty sheets. There was also a bunch of junk being stored in the room (pictured) and the place seemed like nobody had stayed there in a long time. Traces of rat droppings through the whole place made us feel sick. We spent a good hour or so trying to sort this out with & the hotelier but he was not even capable of working the computer and making excuses so he didnt have to. Eventually we got a cash refund once the rest of the family came back, but even this was 100rupees short. This could be a nice place if ye proper care is taken for it, cleaned on a regular basis & if the staff sorted themselves out. These people dont deserve to run a guest house in this lovely city & it feels more of a scam than a Homestay. I would like to highlight that we are budget travellers, so we dont expect the absolute best, but I wont settle for the absolute worst. Dont stay here, you will only regret it when its too late.

Charming home stay for a good price Charming home stay for a good price

We stayed for one night in the pleasure guesthouse and the home stay is really charming. It is a quite place that is located very central in udaipur. The host and his family are very nice and helpful. The chai and the breakfast is amazing. Both the room and the food is very cheap and highly recommended ;)

Garden and terrace are great, but Jitu is just fantastic! Garden and terrace are great, but Jitu is just fantastic!

I came here looking for a budget room to stay at, but I found much more than that! The garden is a great place to chill out and super quiet for how central the location is, or how noisy Udaipur can get. Jitu is the cherry on top of the cake! He is super lovely, offers cooking classes in the afternoon and will hang out with you until late at night if you are travelling with an open heart and with the intention to open your mind to Indian culture, mentality and values.

We had a great time here, very relaxed. We ended up staying a week, felt very much at home! You are literally living with the family. Nice place to hang out and have a few beers. Good view from the roof top. Definitely on the budget side, the cheapest we could find in Udaipur but was okay. Hot shared shower, Indian style toilet but was cleaned very regularly. We had a room downstairs in the common area, so was quiet loud until late at night and early in the mornings. Would recommend trying to get a room on the upper levels away from the noise. G2 the owner is a lot of fun and super chilled but not always around when you need him, especially in the mornings. If you order any food or drinks be ready to wait a long time and sometimes forgotten. Central location, would recommend calling up if you have booked because they never check their computer for bookings and several times people rocked up who had booked online but he had given their rooms away to walk ins. Was always full.
