Clean Hotel in Budget Clean Hotel in Budget

by Mukul K on October 9, 2017

If you are going to be spending most of the day out visiting places and the Ghats - this is the place for you. It is quiet, clean and has friendly staff. It is not at the Ghats and is quite peacefully, however, it is close enough for you to walk down to the Ghats. So if you are on a budget and want to just spend the time in the hotel to come back and sleep then you can consider this. It has good, spacious bathrooms. Best of all it is pretty clean.

We originally booked a room in Hotel Hari Vilaas in Varanasi but once we got there we were told that there was some unspecified work in progress and that we got transferred to another facility for the same price (Crescent Villa). The property is on a main road, which makes getting a taxi or tuk tuk fairy easy but there is also lots of noise and pollution. The place is not far from one of the ghats. We were given two rooms (we were in four). The first room was for three of us and had a double bed, quite comfortable, to the side of which there was a mattress on the floor (it looked dirty) with some linen on it. I decided then to sleep in the "single room" with one of my friends (which was in reality a double room). This room looked stuck in 1980s with old furniture and a very hard mattress. No top sheet, only a blanket (has it every been washed, I wonder). There was aircon but it was quite noisy and the temperature control did not work very well (I got ill). Most of the power sockets in the room did not work or the plug was falling out of them, so I had to charge my phone on the plug used by the TV set top box, which looked like wired by an amateur. Staff was friendly. We had some issues with their POS terminal which was unable to process two debit cards (Barclays and HSBC) and a credit card (Mastercard) - all enabled to work in India.

The furniture's are new , more than required and well maintained . Two basic problems are windows are closed and bed is little hard , but the bed linens, accessories and towels are spotless clean . Every staffs are extremely cooperative and well behaved and always there to extend the help . Food is awesome and superb tasty . Room No- 202 is too good . The rooms are nice and clean despite being a little small in size. The service is above average... Quality of the food is good. The people at the front desk are humble and friendly. The hotel is very close to the ghats and the temple.
