A peaceful stay amidst nature A peaceful stay amidst nature

by Vandana7969 on March 12, 2019

We came across Dhanagiri farms through social media. Since we have visited Waynad many times earlier, we are aware of its natural beauty. Our choice was Vythri and around. And this homestay was perfect. The cottages opened into the faraway mountains and the coffee plantations that was alive with the chirping of birds from the crack of dawn. The misty mountains and the flaming sky at sundown perfectly added to the beauty of the place. The cottage we occupied was clean and quite spacious. It had everything needed for a comfortable stay. My personal opinion is that who needs a television set when there is so much beauty around. We couldn't meet Anand but his parents were the perfect hosts. The service was very good. Abhi needs a special mention. He took us to a little hike in the evening to a close by hillock and it was lovely. The food definitely needs a special mention. It was delicious, authentic Kerala cuisine that we love. The lady ( I am sorry, I didn't get her name) who cooked did a wonderful job. Each meal was a delicious spread. Dhanagiri homestay is definitely a place to visit if one is planning a trip to Waynad. We have plans of going back again. And I must mention that this is a birder's paradise. All that is needed is a pair of binoculars and some patience ....

Wonderful and Relaxing Trip Wonderful and Relaxing Trip

by Darsh2203 on March 8, 2019

My husband and me were planning a trip to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and after looking at many places and innumerable phone calls, we decided on Dhanagiri Home Stay and we feel lucky to have finalised on Dhanagiri. From the very first call to Mr. Anand, I had the feeling that we would be made comfortable and pampered by the team and that it was Mr. Abhi, the Man-Friday did everything to make our stay comfortable and was at our beck-and-call anytime of the day. On our anniversary day, we were given a candle-light dinner with a wonderful cake. A special mention about the lady who cooked delicious meals for us Sainaba. She would make it a point to come and meet us during our meal to find out whether we had enjoyed. Though we couldnt understand each others languages, we could communicate through our expressions and also with Mr. Abhi as a translator. Rooms & View The cottage room was very well maintained with a cute little balcony where we spent most of our time looking at the sunrises, sunsets and the many birds we could get to see just from the balcony. The view was fantastic with the mountains as a backdrop and the coffee plantation and the various trees. The bathroom was also well done. There are 4 such cottages all with the same views. The only negative thing that I could think of was the distance from the dining area to the room which was a little steep climb so would be a little difficult for the elderly. Though, they have rooms which are very near to the dining area, actually meant for a bigger group. Mr. Anand and Mr. Abhi also planned our stay and the places we could visit nearby. On the whole, we had a wonderful trip and definitely would be visiting again.

Amazing food, peaceful location, helpful staff. Amazing food, peaceful location, helpful staff.

Great stay here - the room was lovely. Bathroom excellent. Staff very helpful - thank you Abhi and Anand for putting up with all our questions and demands for help with organising tickets etc! We loved the local tour - it was a highlight, visiting the tea plantations by tuk tuk and climbing up the hill on the estate. Highly recommend.

We stayed at Dhanagiri for three nights, we had a cottage in the middle of the beautiful coffee plantation with a great views. The terrace was a fantastic place to see the sunset. Anand, Cook, Abhi and the team were friendly, and took excellent care of us by arranging trips to Cembra Mountain. Wonderful home cooked meals. Thank you to everyone at Dhanagiri for a wonderful stay

Unique coffee plantation experience Unique coffee plantation experience

We stayed at Dhanagiri for three nights, but would have loved to stay longer. It was such a special experience. We had a cottage in the middle of the coffee plantation with beautiful views. The terrace was a fantastic place to see the sun disappear behind the mountains/hills. Communication with Anand (the owner) has been really smooth. Anand arranged taxi pick-up and drop-off for us (which we thought was above average expensive). On the first day one of Dhanagiris staff members (Abbi) took us out for a guided tour of the coffee plantation and later on the day for a walk up on one of the nearby hills. Really nice experience. Abbi has been a fantastic host during our whole trip. The food was absolutely delicious. Among the best we had during our trip. On the second day they arranged a riskshaw tour for us through the neighbourhood. We visited a tile factory, tea plantation, the rikshaw drivers village and house on a tea plantation, a waterfall and a tea factory and museum. We absolutely enjoyed every minute of it (so many beautiful views) and it felt very authentic.
