Great stay! Great stay!

by RonfromIndia on October 2, 2018

My wife and I stayed at the Four Seasons with our 2 children in October 2010. This is a great place. The place is very clean. Mrs. Mary is an excellent host. She served absolutely sumptuous meals. Mr. Abraham took the time to draw maps for the local attractions. Amazing value for money. Later my mother and sister stayed there too. Mr. Abraham was so kind to drive them to the bus stand as they had a late night bus to catch. So gracious of him. We are so thankful for his and his wife's kindness.

Excellent place to stay with great ambiance with full of orchids & green plants well maintained by Mrs.Mary Abraham. Myself & three family friends stayed there from 14th Nov 2017 to 16th Nov 2017 we had forgot our children's & our homes during the stay there. Long week-end, three close chums in need of an escape and what better thought than a small vacation. Venue? A whiff of Kerala sounded appealing and the vote went to Wayanad first time for all three, including the Keralite in me! Stay option? A lazy Google search this was happening some three months in advance with no great intent, returns TA reviews of Four Seasons Homestay first-up and the eyebrows rise. And a casual online enquiry, followed by a call from Aunt Mary ensured the search ended sooner than it started. Location Around 3 hours of drive from Calicut airport, in Kalpetta town, probably the most centrally located within Wayanad. Stay Home stay with the owners residing at Ground Floor and the two guest rooms on Floor 1. The rooms are tastefully done with the cute dining area cum verandah at the front. And probably best enjoyed when the 2 rooms are had by the same touring party, as we did. Places to visit There are the usual spots of tourist interests a dam, waterfalls, hill station vantage points, caves, the tea estates and the lot. We also did the Maha Ganapathy Temple at Sultan Bathery and the Thirunelli Temple that is some 70-odd kms away. Food We were served some scrumptious Kerala breakfast that set us up nicely for the daytime ventures. Lunch / dinner could be had at Four Seasons with prior notice again, home food that is at peace with the tummy and still in love with the taste buds. Nearby dining options are more than decent we had a chance to try out the very good Udipi restaurant Affas and the impressive Majestic bakery. And surprisingly enough, we never encountered tourist prices at any of the food outings, not once, all places we tried in Wayanad in fact, we almost felt we landed a place some years back in time! Takeaways The affection of Aunt Mary and husband, the long chats we had on families and life in general, the power of prayers and endurance, and a promise and yearning to get back to stay connected, rejuvenated. Travel can indeed widen horizons and surprisingly more so when you decide to step away from a power centre like Mumbai, cut-off that power and look at smaller centres. Probably it gets you closer to you! And how do I end without a mention of the driver that Aunt Mary recommended Thankachhan. A power house of knowledge, especially if you can converse in Malayalam suffice to say that my brief parting note to him at the airport was that he has indeed earned more, staying closer to the roots than us urbanites. Await Wayanad Four Seasons, 2nd Season want the family to experience my piece of bliss, energy! So, promises to keep....

Good place to stay with a great ambience. We stayed there for two days and the cottage is centrally located in Kalpetta. A candle light dinner in the balcony was awesome. Very friendly staffs and the cottage owner Ms.Mary was so kind and helpful. They also arranged local transportation for us. By all means I would suggest this place for my family and friends who would visit Wayanad.

V were on a bike trip. nice stay wit gud ambience. The hospitality was at it's best. I would prefer this.. I luv that balcony especially covered with lushy green plants and trees.. The owner was so friendly and treated us well.. The tariff was way cheaper and it's worth the price.
