When you are going to a city which is a tourist attraction and saturated with Hotels, you should not be surprised with what is claimed on the website and what the reality is. The website on whose shoulders the hotel information is uploaded, is not fully equipped to verify the claims and audit the contents. A tourist is generally guided by the photographs and the claims made, but at least in our case the reality and the claim had a wide difference, when we visited Hotel Alpine on 10 Sep 2011 for a day. Yes we were looking for a budget hotel and shortlisted Hotel Alpine for a nights halt. Approach to the hotel was easy as it was located opposite a famous hospital on Fatehabad road, in Agra We checked in two rooms and found that fan in one of the rooms was noisy and the other room bathroom light had failed. Asked to shift in the other rooms at first floor, which we did. In the changed room, bathroom latch was unserviceable, but agreed not to change. DG set was promptly switched on when the power went, but after some time the pungent smell of burnt diesel entered the room. The owner at the ground floor annexe office informed that he is used to this odur and is okay with him. After checking in at 6.30 PM wanted to have a cup of tea and some snacks……checked after half an hour and were informed that because of rains, the cook has not turned up and therefore will be able to give tea only. Went out for a walk as could not bear the smell. Bathroom had instant hot water supply and soap with towel…a plus point. In the morning for breakfast the situation had not improved and there was no trace of cook….asked for some sandwiches and butter to save time and rushed out. Though breakfast and Taj tickets are claimed to be complimentary, it was not provided and no tickets were offered.

The hotel is a OK sort of Hotel. Room is OK. Has no restaurant only room service, that too not available, Hotel Alpine better to be avoided.

by SANJEEVNAGAR on August 12, 2016

I had visited this hotel and I found that this kind of budgeted hotels are very few which make your trip amazing. Hotel was very neat & clean and room service was excellent. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner was very nice and on time. After all I should mention the name of owner Mr. Ashraf who was cordial and very helpful. He given me very friendly response during my trip and he booked a cab for Agra and also for Mathura on reasonable rates for us and we enjoyed a lot. Such a nice experience I had. Once again thank you to Mr. Ashraf and hope to see there again.

Terribly Managed Hotel.... beyond your imagination...! Terribly Managed Hotel.... beyond your imagination...!

by Sanjay1555 on February 20, 2016

Extremely pathetic and horrible experience while staying in this Hotel of Agra along with 50 students of my College. I am forced to write this review of the Hotel because this hotel was booked by the one "Tour and Travel" company whom we have hired to manage our whole trip. We were told that this property is a 3-star one, but later on was found to be actually a 2-star hotel. I hope that my review will protect some innocent traveler's from fall into the trap of such type of third rated hotel and prevent their hard earned money. Coming to this Hotel, which is 5 Kms. approx. from the Taj Mahal (and I suppose that's why it has been booked for us by our travel agent) is terribly managed one's I have seen so far while traveling. It also seems very ridiculous to me that the manager-cum-owner of this Hotel is totally ignorant about the conditions of the room and hence not even maintained the basic amenities out there. It seems that they were ill-prepared to receive us (mentally as well as professionally) or they didn't bother at all because having only one-time customer's experience always after seeing all these mis-management out there. Starting with some strange experiences:- 1) The outside doors have the locks which were preferably installed in one's washroom (can be locked from inside only, and not form outside). 2) The toilets of every rooms (alloted 19 rooms approx. to all of us) are extremely and terribly manged. In one of the initial room alloted to me, the toilet seat cover was found to be open-up with the help of white cello-tape around it. The wash-basin taps are not leaking from their joints below it and that's why instead of repairing it, the house keepers have stopped its water-supply from the main tap. 3) The toilet is full of big black mosquitoes. Only after complaining about it, the room service boy came with some blue spray (glass cleaner type), which is totally useless as it has no effect on mosquitoes and they stick to the walls a they were doing earlier. The manager didn't even have some effective mode of fumigation to get rid of this menace...... terrible..! 4) The hotel didn't have their own water RO-system for providing clean and good quality water to their guests. The uses either tap-water (not even filtered one), or bring a 20 liter water can from the market (but only for breakfast, Lunch and Dinner time). Else you have to purchase the packaged Mineral Water from the hotel at double the price from the market. Very good tactics to make a big hole in the pockets of their customer. In other options you have to drink the tap water only which have a very unique saline taste (because of having high TDS value). 5) The hotel have very less staff to cater a big group of people at one time anywhere. Their kitchen starts at 7:00 am only so you will get your breakfast not before 8:00 am (so if you have to leave early you have to go without it because they didn't change their time-table for you, even for single day). 6) Coming to the rooms alloted to all of us, it seems that the house keeping activities has not performed in those rooms usually after the guest check-out from there. This impression was formed because of the bad-smelling blankets, hair on the beds, etc., and all such proofs of previous occupancy can be easily found everywhere in the room. These can be removed or changed only after registering your complaints at the reception every time. 7) Last but not the least, the food served their is the nail in the coffin of your stay. Its terribly tasteless on every aspects. It must be a matter of investigation that which authority have given this hotel a 2-star status which deserves a (negative) 2 star instead for all this and their permit for running the hotel should be canceled permanently. 8) They give you free WiFi Id and password but it is of no use because either its too slow or its speed has been capped or not working at all (as told by the users). The sofa set lying at their Receptions gets wear and tear marks all over it. Those who can't even manage their front office properly could be easily assessed for the quality of ambiance providing to their customer in the rooms of that hotel. So, my sincere advice to those who are planning to book this hotel just because it is very near to TajMahal. Think twice before booking this hotel and save you hard earned money. I am attaching the recent pictures of this hotel and its room which is actually different from the rosy pictures available on the website as a proof of my unbiased observations.
