This hotel is family hotel, the staff behaviour was good in the hotel.Overall i would rate 3/5 for this hotel.
same b'fast menu both days;not value for money.
It's was not at all worth the price. First they checked us into a smelly room, after talking at the front desk they changed it, which was reasonably ok, but ofcourse not upto our expectations. We had dinner there with big rats running around. Self and kids were so afraid. The staff service is good, they are kind. Breakfast was also very very average. Over all I would not recommend to stay there, even for one night, that's my personnel experience, no hard feelings.
While checking-in we were kept waiting for around 20 mins as there was a big group checking in. Then they finally called me to the reception desk and told me that they are giving me a pool facing room, which was as per my liking. The way to the room (in a different section of the hotel) was very shady with broken tiles and more of a service lift. We entered into a room on the 2nd floor with orange coloured wall. The overall ambience was so shady that we could not stand it for 10 mins, so we decided to call the reception and asked for an upgraded room as we were ready to pay extra amount to be out of that room. Then we again went to the reception and contacted the duty manager. Was a nice guy and after hearing our plight, gave us another room in the newer block. The new room was good, wooden flooring and much more spacious than the previous one. The overall service was nice and hotel staff was quite courteous. But I would still say the hotel qualifies for a good 4 star hotel and not a 5 star.
The location of the hotel is in a remote area, the staff behaviour was excelllent, Overall it was a good stay at the hotel. I will recommend this hotel to my freinds for future booking.

Nice and clean hotel, the aircon is a minor issue tends to ignore your request to set a lower temperature. Breakfast compared as always the same in all hotels in India, over cooked bacon (like leather :) omelette the better choice for eggs, tomatoes lukewarm bake beans a bit strange. Our only gripe is that free wifi only available in the lobby the only area in this hotel where you can also get a drink is under the second building
On entering the hotel the foyer looked up market, and our group said let's hope the rooms are as flash. Sadly they weren't. It was a busy tourist hotel, with many groups and busy. Reception ok, not overly helpful. Rooms ok, reasonably clean but bit shabby. Lots people in reception in the evening as free wifi only there. Some of our group used restaurant said it was ok. Breakfast was ok, staff did their best!
We stayed in this hotel for two nights at a rountrip. While the outer appereance of the hotel is charmless, the rooms are of modern, good standard. I would consider it a 4-star hotel in my definition - it's not a Taj. Standard, tidy rooms with acceptable breakfast. The most important feature is the Indian restaurant. While you have to pay extra, it's worth it.
Please refer to Glenn H for further details as I agree with his review (totally independent of mine) but Clarks is pathetic. Good points? Well service in the 5th floor restaurant is good but the food is no better than a good UK Indian takeaway. Aimed at tourists terrified of spice and taste I suppose. Other points? Our room was dirty and badly appointed. The Coffee Shop was the most depressingly decorated room I have ever seen and the breakfast buffet was poor. WIFI was a total fiasco. Free in reception simply encouraged a camping attitude amongst guests. So I bought a pass for the room which was so ineffective I eventually got upgraded to a better speed and service, so why isn't this simply made available anyway? The Front Office Manager is totally ineffective and will no doubt write some condescending response to this report. Summary is that Clarks is not 5star, in fact it is barely fit for purpose and tour operators really do need to either, find alternative hotels or strongly encourage Clarks to improve. As independent travellers we were herded just like the Groups and paid the price I suppose.
If you want/need a five star experience in Agra, find other accommodations. The unacceptable 5-Star experience began at check-in. Our arrival and presence at the front desk was not acknowledged by the front desk staff for 13 minutes, they apparently had a paperwork crisis keeping all but the one assisting another couple occupied. Then a tour operator doing a multi-room check-in blatantly cut in front of us. No mention about breakfast even though I was confident that it was included in our rate. The paper key cover had been reused from a previous guest, Ive never seen that before. Room doesnt appear to have been updated since original construction in 1964. Only one outlet available for phones and computers except by unplugging a lamp or the TV set or using the bathroom outlet. We had requested twin beds, but were given a King, but the King was actually two twins pushed together, with twin sheets placed crosswise the head and foot, but the cover (no top sheet) was actually two twin comforters, so there was an overlap in the center. No flat top sheet is apparently common in Indian hotels, but I expect 4 & 5 star accommodations to have higher standards for comfort and sanitation. Food was adequate and appropriate for a breakfast buffet, although baked goods (muffins and danish) were stale. Service was lacking - had to flag the serving staff down numerous times for coffee and tea and refills, and ask for teaspoons which werent included at breakfast place-settings. The last straws were at checkout. After confirming that I was being charged in rupees and marked such in the credit card agreement, I was charged an additional 5.3% on top of my contract rate to be billed in US dollars. The front desk conveniently stapled the final customer copy of the credit card receipt to the hotel billing statement then folded and inserted them into an envelope so that this excessive charge was not noticed until I checked my bank charges. The hotel has been unresponsive to emails asking for an adjustment. This isnt a five star hotel. Reputable booking agencies should rate this hotel at best 4. I can understand why this hotel has little incentive to try harder. Those on group tours never deal with staff check-in and check-out., and most people seeking 5-star accommodations are in Agra are there on a once in a lifetime visit and will unlikely ever return.
