Quiet location just off the main road. Only a short, 15-minute walk to the Taj Mahal which we were able to arrive in time for sunrise. Comfortable beds in well-decorated rooms. Unfortunately, the shower was only luke-warm. Very helpful staff.

We had booked this hotel for two nights but were able to stay only one night. We fully expected to have to pay the full price of the second night as well but they were super nice and we only had to pay a very small fee of the second night. The location of the hotel is good, rooms are clean and comfortable and the wifi works well. The room also had a heater which came in handy. However, I do not recommend booking the rooms for 3 people as the bed for the third person is not really a bed but rather a bench/sofa and they did not even provide bed sheets for it but just a blanket. For two people the rooms are great. The restaurant is also good with great service. They do not accept credit cards at all which is a problem especially now that cash is not that easily available.

The hotel rooms are clean and hot water is available all the time which is a plus point in India. However, the hotel claims that it is having problems with credit card facilities and only accepts cash which is a big issue for travelers. When we checked in on 26th January 2017, the manager, Rahul assured us that we will be able to pay by credit card but on checking out he demanded cash payment. The same demand was made with other guests with the option for currency conversion for which a very low rate was offered. Although the hotel itself is good however, the feeling is that money is made by overcharging customers for services. For a cab fare to Fatehpur sikri which was 1,500 rupees charged by other hotels, Rays was charging 1,800 rupees.

We stayed at Ray if Maya one night, and we were very happy with it. It's only a few minutes walk away from the Taj Mahal and inside it is clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and happy to talk with us. Don't let the outside deter you (since it's down a small dirt road and the junk in the basement shows on the street) because it really is a great place. We would definitely stay here again.

Both of our rooms were clean and spacious. The staff tried to be helpful although we did have issues with being unable to pay with credit cards. The hotel is not on the street but rather behind another building and there isn't much to see. However, it's quite close to the Taj Mahal and thus ideal for getting an early start to beat the queues.
