Don't book online! All the hotels on Ashram Road are rat holes... probably on S.G. Road, as well. See them first yourself. Try early to get an AirBnB or some other "paying guest" accommodation in a private condo, flat or home. These hotels in mid and lower range are ugly construction zones, incompetently run, can't be sure even the sheets are clean, located on ghastly busy roads etc. etc. Try new Atithi Hotel on Law Garden Road... rooms are clean, attractive, almost to international standards, at 2,500 Rs... negotiate!
Had a rather extended stay at this property due to work in Ahmedabad. Centrally located on Ashram Road above the Bata Showroom, this hotel occupies the 5th and 6th floor. Work is underway on the 7th floor as well. Rooms are big and comfortable.
Front desk staff is helpful and pleasant.Sabarmati riverfront is barely 200mtrs away.
There are a few restaurants close by as well.
Food is very good. Had lunch and dinner multiple times. The cook was kind enough to prepare food as per our specifications. Do bear in mind, this is an exclusively veg hotel.
Front desk can arrange transportation for daily excursions as well.
All in all, no complaints and would love to go back here for a stay again.
Centrally located on the Ashram Road, within walking distance of the river front, hotel offers a comfortable stay. Amenities are good, with Wi Fi connection offering good speed.Hotel is located on the fifth floor but the lower floors are still being fitted out.
Located above the Bata showroom at a junction on the main road on the 5th floor, Hotel Salute may get quite noisy at night. The other floors of the build are under construction, so when you take the lift to the 5th floor, expect to go through completely dark floors (thankfully the elevator lights are always on) and the elevator could also sometimes get a bit dirty with sand from the construction work. The location near Navrangpura police station is quite good and central for tourists. We took 2 rooms - one with twin beds (room is smaller), and one with a double bed (bigger room as we wanted to add an extra bed for the 3rd person). We got the corner room (number 519) opposite to the honeymoon suite, this was a huge comfortable room with a functional bathroom. AC worked well, TV was good, hot water was available although not necessary in the heat. We did not face any issues and it was a steal for the price we got it at. They provided extra soaps and towels on asking.
The only con I see is that they don't have a restaurant, although they serve complimentary breakfast. They should stop this as it is a big disadvantage for them. The guests tend to eat and because of lack of proper resources, it leaves a slightly sour feeling. There is no proper place to even sit and eat, they do not have proper utensils - plates and cups are dirty. Too few spoons and forks. The food itself is okay, but everything else leaves much to be desired. For other meals, there is Hotel Toran nearby and Dudawat Cafe was much loved by all of us.
The staff at the reception were really nice and helpful. They even let us keep our luggage the whole day as we had a night train, but checked out at noon. They were even kind enough to give us a room for an hour in the evening to freshen up before our train. Definitely value for money, I would recommend people to stay here. Just avoid the breakfast.
the property is centrally located which is best, although the property is hard to find if youre a new person in town as it is situated in the 4th floor of the building. breakfast menu was limited but was good. best thing is exhibition ground and Manek chownk is very near from the hotel. overall a nice stay as rooms and bathrooms were very clean.
