I stayed with Kumbh Camps for three days and place is good in terms of cleanliness and food. Its located 2-3 kms away from Arial ghat and you may not find it ourselves as it's in very interior of Arial Village. You would be good to reach there if you have your own cab and someone to guide you on phone(probably someone from Kumbh Camps itself). NOT TRY to reach there on foot as listed on their website its 700-800m from Sangam. That is not the case and you might keep walking for 3-4 kms min. Food was good in terms of quality and variety in lunch and dinner. But very few option in breakfast. Catering staff was well behaved and well trained. They will always greet you whenever you meet them and its always pleasant to spend time talking to catering staff about food and other stuff. Staff at the helpdesk was really difficult to talk to. They were not ready to listen to anything you say and they will just go by their own rules which keep on changing every min. Few of forgieners were always on helpdesk to discuss their problems but they was no avail. We didn't bother till it happened with one of my friends who I met in the camp only had really tough time dealing with them. He booked for 3 people and 2 of his friends dropped out of plan. So he called Kumbh Camps and he talked to Suresh for cancellation. He said he can refunded money for only one person and not for other and will give the money back once he comes in camp. When my friend asked for money for refund, Suresh said that he cannot refund the money and he never said he will refund the money but will talk to management. On this when I tried to intervene and ask why the money is not be refunded when he confirmed the same on phone. He said management is not allowing it to be done. I asked for who in the management he had skopen to. He declined to give me the name. I asked him why is he hiding the name and I want to speak to the person in charge of camps or owner. He didn't allow me to speak to anyone and said the cancellation policy doesnot allow cancellation 1 day prior. When we informed him that my friend has called him 4 days before coming, then he said we doesnot allow cancellation at all and as per website there is no cancellation allowed after 1st Jan which is 1.5 month before my friends booking. When I questioned him, how is it possible that camp doesnot have cancellation policy, he started arguing and then just walked away. My friend asked them to allow one of his friend who he met in kumbh to stay with him as he doesnot have accomodation as he has paid for 3 people. They didn't allow him to say as well saying that he hasn't checked it with you from the first day. It was strange as neither they were not ready to pay back the money nor they were allowing anyone to stay in it. They were more eager to allow it to stay empty as they already got paid for it rather than allow it to be used by the guests. My friend's friend has to pay them Rs 1500 extra per day to allow them to stay with us even after lot of discussion. Before this discussion, they have arranged for us a guide tour by 11 AM to visit the KUMBH mela. After the discussion was over and we were ready to leave. They cancelled the tour for us and asked us that they cannot allow a guided tour as offical time is 3.30 PM for the same. We would very well figure out why the tour was cancelled. We tried to confront them as what the hell is going on? and the reply we got that they have to follow the rules and my question to them was. Wasn't they aware of the rules before this particular discussion? All of sudden what changed in 10 min. To me they looked like college passouts who doesnot know anything about customer service and are here only to make money. Which I confirmed with them and they told me they have passed out only a year ago and have started doing this business :)
