Well, mix feeling about the property. Though the property is based in interior (well before Alleppey) which gives you the full feeling of backwater, the property itself is so so. Food is not good, we had breakfast 2 days which was exactly same with very very limited option. Dinner was horrible in taste. If you just want to stay in a property which is away from city, may be considered. House staff are good but due to less number of staff service is very slow. Out of 4 calls we made to reception only 2 were answered.

Location and resort itself are very nice. Rooms r very dark. Insects r more. Cleaning was not proper. Beach was owsome I would say best in kerala. I visited 5 beach through out the trip. This was outstanding. Sunrise was owsome. Food was not at all good. Some renovation was going on.

Quite a late review (we visited in Sep 2015) but better late than never. Complaints of this being interior are just absurd. Its about 15 mins from the NH which is quite alright for a backwater resort and the taxi service was part of the peacock package that I had availed. We visited Fort Kochi, Lulu mall and had a nice time at the beach as well. Staff - simply exceptional and humble. Food was fantastic. They have an open restaurant, thankfully no renovation or noise when I visited. The spa was brilliant as well. Top notch!

We stayed at the resort on 20th & 21st October. The location is very good(except that it is a little in the interior) ambience is very nice, the staff is very cordial and warm. They made us feel very comfortable. All in all a very good hospitality experience.

Small things make good places great. And this place falls short on pretty much all those small things. While the location and boat ride to the beach are stunning, that's pretty much all the good stuff for this place. Quite frankly, I could have stayed in a houseboat for the same price of this hotel and that would have probably been better. The resort is on a small island of sorts so you need to leave your car behind and take a really small boat ride. The hotel is severely short staffed and you are going to run into this one boat man doing pretty much everything else. He's the boatman, the housekeeping and the waiter. I just saw him fixing the plumbing as well! Most of the rooms have a stunning view but that's about it. The place is under renovation , so there's no reception, no restaurant. There's one small shelter which doubles up as both. Also, there's the constant noise of machines during the renovation. Not the peace and quiet I wanted! By the time we reached, it was time for their complimentary boat ride. The ride took us to the beach. It started at 3.30 PM and by the time we came back it was 7.00 PM. This ride, the view and wifi were the only decent things at this place. Before we left the room, we noticed that there was no kettle for the tea and just one blanket for two people. So we asked for the kettle and blanket. They took our dinner order on our way back at around 6.30 PM and asked us what time we'd like the dinner. We said around 8.30 / 9.00 By 9.30 the dinner hadn't arrived. We called twice and the response we got was that we'd asked for the dinner at 9.30 We didn't get the kettle either. They later told us that kettles were available only in superior rooms and we had booked a super deluxe room. It's something which I specifically check before booking a room, if they have a kettle. We like our morning chai. And all the photos on Tripadvisor showed a kettle. Isn't that the least one can expect when you're paying this much for a room? And then things kept getting worse. Lizards in the room and rat droppings on the bed before we slept. By then I was too fed up of complaining, so I walked to the housekeeping and just asked for an extra sheet and changed it myself. The blankets came, after asking for them thrice and were smelling really musty. We just ended up sleeping without blankets. Since there were no kettles in the room, we asked for tea in the morning. They said they had a pot with four cups (which in reality was three). Frankly, one or two of these little things in a hotel never bother me. But when everything becomes a struggle in a hotel, it really makes the holiday cumbersome. The second pot of tea was milky white, so when I sent it back to the kitchen, the four cup-pot-tea (which was three cups), came back as two cups. By now, I just wanted to have breakfast and leave. But the breakfast which was supposed to be ready at 7.30 AM wasn't even out at 8.30 AM which was around when I wrote this review. Leaving this place in a few hours, utterly disappointed. The breakfast finally arrived after 9. And I should have probably just checked out without it. It's in an open makeshift shelter. The fruits had ants all over it! I understand it's difficult to manage ants in an outdoor shelter. But shouldn't you at least cover the fruits? The tea hadn't come. The toast was not covered swarming with ants as well. Less said the better. This resort has around 10 villas and apparently they are expanding now. But they simply do not have the staff to handle any more rooms. If you're planning to visit, check if the renovation has been completed or just skip it. Rarely write a negative review, but I just wish I had stayed on a houseboat instead.
