Nice for wedding Nice for wedding

by Rohit A on February 11, 2017

Has a huge place to have a wedding a city. The best hotel in amravati. Have a small lawn behind and a too many capacity to have people. But its costly as there is no such hotel as big as this. For visiting and staying ill not recommend this hotel.. but there are good restaurant which u can try.

Well for those who are wondering why such an inappropriate start to a review as compared to many others positive ones, there is just one reason: 1). My experience was far from good at this hotel And yes, I do know about hotels as I travel almost 17 days a month. For starters, there are some good things about this property: 1). Someone has spent good amount of money to build this place. It is nice, clean and neat. 2). The food tastes good. Not too spicy and North Indian or South Indian preparations do not have a hint of Maharashtra spice mix. 3). The beds are comfortable so you may get a good rest. The hotel is not maintained well. The people can;t manage the property. While I checked in, there was a marriage taking place so the usual ho-hum was in progress. I asked for a quiet room and was promptly given one. Too bad, the room's door had a problem throughout my stay and the hotel folks couldn't get someone to look at it .. forget rectifying the problem. Once you step ouyt of the door and close it, there is no way the room key would work. So you go back to reception and ask for 2-3 keys. It's a chance either one of them would work and his highness the door would open. Half the hotel was aware of the problem by the end of the stay but nobody rectified it. Second, the TV did not work throughout my stay. I was given assurances of "I'll start in 10-15 minutes", but the magical "10-15 minutes" did not come until I checked out. The supposedly "quiet room" had no noise insulation. So in the evening and night when the marriage was in progress, I was sitting in bed thinking what to do as I couldn't sleep. Turned out the next morning that I had the best room away from all the noise. The lift was not working. I was given a room on the 4th floor and the lift stopped working. I was told that the kids who were present with the wedding party pressed few buttons and it lift was stuck..Now, my luck that my door wasn't opening and I had to troop up and down 4 floor each time I exited the door.. The worst came on breakfast the next morning because of which I have given this review the rating I have given. I asked for a "knife". The waiters understood what I wanted but never brought it. Their so called manager asked me maybe 3 times to understand what I wanted and then told me that they don't have one. WHAT?? NO Knife?? He proposed me to take 2 forks or 2 spoons instead.. WIERD...! Turns out he somehow got me a knife and it was used previously and was dirty. I showed it to him and asked him to clean it. The guy promptly took the paper napkin from next table, cleaned the knife and returned it to me. Guess what, it was still dirty. On showing it again, he apologized and proceeded to use 2 tissues to clean it "properly" and that's when I lost it. I mean, the whole nation is on a cleanliness drive and this guy who is supposedly the "shift incharge" doesn't know that soap and water exist for cleaning utensils..! During checkout, when I was asked about my stay I told them the truth that it wasn't good. He asked me to wait in the restaurant area till he preapred the bill. And that's when I realized that the fountain had water that was "foaming ". ASked around and was told that they cleaned it thoroughly 3 months ago and this is the best state it has ever been... CMON MAN... You got to be kidding me.. I paid for a hotel and ended up being a part of a huge Circus.. Maybe the guys are not trained enough to handle a property like this. But everyone says it is the best. BTW, the property is already showing signs of wear and tear. So if they don;t get their act together, I don't see this place raking in the rankings it is raking in right now.

This place has nice rooms which big in size and have all required amenities. It has nice lawn area for reception parties. Also, they have their own catering business which gets involved in these grand affairs. Food is amazing second to none. Management is prompt in assistance. Kudos!

Was at Grand Mehfil for the weekend. Great service (the staff was very courteous), spacious rooms (with convertible sofa cum beds apart from the double bed), lovely cafe in the lobby (as in the attached pic) and good food (lots of value for money). My friends tried some other hotels and this one is the best in the city by far.
