Hotel Cofort Inn Alstonia in the city of Amritsar was quite nice, clean ( Indian standard ) and hospitable,
Rooms were comfy, bathroom was in good and comfortable .shower hot/warm water was working .
Hotel is close to the Wagha ( International Border with Pakistan ) approxi. 30 kilometres ,
Where the visit in the evening time around 4.30 pm /5 pm the Border Security Force on the Indian side and the Pakistan Rangers from the Pakistan side try to put a show ,marching in stiff and disciplined way to rile the partisan crowds on both side.
Sort of like making a political statement ,showing their prowess and strength while doing the ceremony of their national flags.
Actually it was amusing.
Golden Temple , is not far and worth all the hassle and chaos in Punjab for that matter India. Absolutely peaceful ,spiritual uplifting. Will recommend to all who would like to visit the area.
Breakfast was also decent ,mostly Indian food, but the eggs and omelet were also available.
Hotel is also close to the Amritsar International airport , and convienent to other attractions.
The wifi could be better, had to ask the front desk to reset the password etc, and it was slow.
Good hotel to stay to the Indian standard,
Will stay there again if and when around that city.
Happy travelling to all !
Went for a overnight stay and would say that I was more than pleased. The service was excellent and the food quality was great as well.
The restaurant offers good and wide range of options to choose from. Would definately recommend it.
A very cozy and homely place, at a great location! though a small hotel, rooms are spacious. Nice sleep also guaranteed.
Had only breakfast there and was good.
The nearby places offers good options for dinner.
Am about to checkout in a couple of hours and thought I would pen down this review. Checked in on the 31st Jan, and checkin was fast and efficient.Room was on the 4th floor, spacious, very clean, good toileteries, and a great rain shower ! Was on MAP plan, and dinner was a set menu with good choice and great tasting food. Breakfast had a very good spread. Hotel has a bar too which I didnt try. On the 2nd night, wanted something other than chicken which I was tired of eating and reception assured me that they would inform the concerned staff which they did and a few minutes later someone knocked on my door asking for my preference for Dinner. Staff all round at reception, room service and breakfast buffet were pleasant , polite and always smiling. Was our anniversary yesterday, and sent them a mail before arriving asking them to provide us a good comfortable room, but then, we got a cake too - a guesture appreciated.
Come out of your hotel and you have a few good restaurants like yellow chilly, a well known dhaba, a tandoori restaurant, a pizza shop, and a few places selling street food. There is also a place called Vishal Supermarket which has clothes, a supermarket and found some great value shopping here...
A few called this a Budget Hotel - dunno what their Luxury would mean, but for what I paid, I would call this a Great Hotel - has everything I need, a lovely comfortable bed, free wifi, a great shower, toileteries, mini fridge, a great buffet spread, lovely food and most of all a large spacious room cleaned daily and efficient staff. What more can one expect?
I very rarely give a 5/5, but I think this place deserves it....Keep it up guys !
We had a good single night's stay.
The room was comfortable and well equipped, two chairs, TV etc.
Comfy bed for India.
The South Indian breakfast was good.
The wedding taking place while we were there added local colour.
