Booked online by oyo. Good rooms good locations but service very slow. Make 3/4 times call for one thing. Rate is valueble. But need to improve services. Very neraby from golden temple n jallianwallah baug. On d gt road. Near bus stand good location value for money stuff
I stayed in MM Yellowuds in March 2016. It is undoubtedly one of the worst hotels that I have stayed ever.
LOCATION: Though close to the two major attraction of Amritsar - the Golden Temple and Jalianwala Bagh - it is bang on the GT Road, you'll be constantly hearing the noise from the heavy traffic on the highway.
ROOMS: Dirty room, with extremely dirty mattress and linen. looked like they never change the linen. The bedsheet had blood stains, hair and dirt. Had to insist them to change the linen which they were reluctant initially. I spent one night at the hotel, but overall it left a bad taste.
We had booked this hotel via OYO rooms and it delivered on its promises. The room was descent, clean linen, working air-conditioner, hygienic bathroom, pleasant staff, free WiFi, complimentary breakfast.. so everything was in place. But the location was not agreeable. Only I wasn't aware that a little after sun down the place would become deserted and one cycle-rickshaw driver strongly suggested not stepping out once its dark because of frequent cases of mugging.
So, if you are okay with this, certainly stay here. Everything else is alright.
We had a family stay at Hotel MM Yellowuds during Dusshera holiday in Oct-15 for about 4 days.
Giving a brief about the Hotel :-
Location - Location wise it is quite conveniently located on the main GT Road near Ram Talai Temple , although as a landmark Ram Talai Temple is not that much known but Bus Stand on GT road is a better known landmark for the hotel.
Golden Temple is approximately 1.5 km from the hotel and public transport is easily available till 7 8 p.m. from the hotel, as it is on main road. From the hotel, there is easy accessibility of private or public transport to various parts of Amritsar.
Rooms We booked this hotel via a known budget hotel website .Rooms were clean but average with some hitches, although both the rooms, which we got were spacious enough. Few hitches that I mentioned were that the paint was coming off at a few places;(photos attached ) seepage was a common problem as mentioned by guests in the above reviews but surely not to an extent which can make the stay troublesome. Furniture was in OK condition if not bad or good. Some minor issues with the light and AC which later on, got fixed.
Bed sheets & Blanket They were clean for our use but if you are travelling in a typical winter season (December January) it will always be good to carry at least one of your own blanket as the blankets provided in the rooms might be a little light to provide comfort in the chilling winters. (photos attached)
Washrooms Washrooms were neat and clean but there was a water clogging issue in one of the washrooms. Hot water facility was there which at least for our entire stay, we got consistently. Shower was not in working condition. (photos attached)
Breakfast & Wi-Fi We had a free breakfast & Wi-Fi facility in our package. Option wise there were not too many menu items. Only tea with bread butter, toasted bread and bread jam. Although they have a full menu but that is on demand and not a part of our package. Since it was just bread so there is nothing much to review about but teas was good. But the dining tables were surely in a bad shape with really soiled table cloths and thats one thing which to an extent put us off (photos attached). Clean table clothes were one thing which definitely could have been easily managed but it was not there. Wi-Fi facility we availed which was ok to use for shorter period but for longer usage it keeps on disconnecting.
Parking space The hotel has a side parking space lobby where I guess 3 vehicles at the same time can be parked in easily. Along with it, on the ground floor space in front of the hotel, there are a couple of shops where additional parking space can be created in evening. Hotel is next to a petrol pump so at times it comes too handy.
Hotel Staff & Property Behavior wise hotel staff was ok, although we had a very limited interaction with them. Nothing much to comment about but personally I feel that they can probably keep more professional persons on reception. The reception area is actually good looking with the some designer work done there. The hotel has a lift facility also and overall hotel property is in good shape.
Overall it was good stay with Family for a reasonable price that we paid for the hotel.
we booked four executive rooms in the hotel two weeks in advance of our travel and received email from them confirming our booking with them.
on our arrival at the hotel, firstly they said that our rooms are not booked. then, they said that only three rooms have been booked. later they said that they have allotted our rooms to someone else due to festive rush and only normal rooms are available.
we checked into the normal rooms. the normal rooms that they were offering as deluxe rooms were terrible. there was a layer of dust on the floor, bed-sheet n blanket were dirty, there was high dampness in walls, the almirah from the room was destroyed due to termite.
moreover, the hotel staff misbehaved stating that due to festive season we will not be able to find room anywhere in amritsar.
the hotel is tied up with OYO rooms. I request OYO rooms staff to please first check the hotel and its quality before offering their rooms for sale.
but we were lucky enough to find room at Hotel S G Resorts.
