The staff of this place is very much peaceful and calm. They are supportive with you. The location of this place is near to Golden Temple. This is located on the main road of the city which is near to bus stand railway station. Coming to room size, bathroom size, clealiness of room so I will all are good. Ambience of this place very peaceful and feel like your second home.
Home Away from Home - for real
by AUMIT R on
Most Hotels advertise "Home away from Home"...but this one was for a real experience of staying at a HOME away from HOME. Excellent people, excellent courtesy, excellent service, excellent HOMELY food@ reasonable prices, get all assistance whenever wanted - this Tourist Guest House in Amritsar has it all. Location is also very nice considering that it is not too far from the main attraction of Amritsar-The Golden Temple-and also away from the din and noise of the city. Very near the Railway Station, the guest house provides large, spacious rooms with neat & clean linen, clean washrooms, an excellent dining room and a small library. Not a 5-star facility but definitely exclusive in its own right. A must stay for us again when we visit Amritsar next.
Cheap and the best, prime location

Railway station/ Bus stand is less than 1 km away. Golden Temple 2.5 kms away. Hall Bazar 1 km. Luxury buses stop 500m. What else one wants from this place?
Rooms are pretty big in size and they have their own pantry that cooks delicious food. I got myself a double AC room (2 double bed) with common bathroom. One of the room was really good while other was just ok. Bathrooms are age old and needs to be refurnished.
They have parking space as well. Overall a good stay at a price you are paying.
great potential .... but a lot of work needed!!

There are 2 guest houses of the same name in Amristar, so if you found the name in the lonely planet guide make sure your going to the right one!! And not this one!!
Located about a 25 minute walk from the golden temple this guest house was considerably cheaper than other places we visited.
However.....
In our first room the boiler exploded.
Sparks were flying everywhere and water was pouring out.
Our second room had no lights in the bathroom and had a little mouse running around the floor!!
There was so much noise from the road and the train station it resulted in a very unpleasant nights sleep. That and someone randomly banging on the door in the middle of the night.
There was no check in, and we weren't even given a lock for our door!!
The shower was really bad, it just dribbled out. Although there was hot water, it only lasted for a few seconds.
They do serve food here but the menu is limited. The food was alright, and actually the best part of the stay.
The wifi was also quite inconsistent here.
The staff although friendly enough spent most of their time playing cricket, and not doing and real work.
Such as shame as the rooms were a really good size, the place has great potential if it were run correctly.
