This spa-hotel hidden away from the noisy hustle and bustle of Amritsar is tranquility personified. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms have plenty of space and are perfectly comfortable. The bathrooms are adequate, but could perhaps do with a little attention. However the staff are absolutely fantastic and I would certainly stay again.
This is the second time I stayed at Ranjits Svaasa. Its a charming early 20th century Haveli (Mansion) converted to a boutique hotel. Tastefully done with a mix of English prints upholstery and Indian architecture. The walls are dotted with black and white family photos and it even has a gramophone which works:)
Well maintained property which retains an old world charm, Crisp sheets, comfortable beds, top class toiletries and friendly staff,
Its located a 100 meters or so off the Mall Road which takes it away from the noise and yet all the famous eating places and of course the Golden Temple are within a radius of 2 Kms.
The only thing I would like to call out it is the food we ordered for dinner was below average. I was expecting 'Amritsar Standard' but it was more like canteen food. The Pizza took exceptionally long and when it arrived it was burnt. Must add that the Pizza wasn't charged to my bill without having to complain!
In all we loved our stay, the front office staff upgraded us to a two room suite, the four of us slept comfortably after a long drive from Delhi.
I will definitely visit again!
SVAASA was charming. From Chuchi the young dachshund, to the staff, to the flowers and well maintained gardens, inside courtyard, gift shop and quiet suite. Meals are served in a separate building and were 'just right' with freshly made breads, cooked cereal/porridge, and light meals as well as dinner. We ate lunch in the garden. Our suite had two bathrooms, a living room, large entry and huge bedroom. This old family home is now a delightful place to stay for those of us fortunate enough to have been there. Our tour guide, Ranjit, a pleasant and knowledgable young man, provided excellent information and made sure that we saw all of the Amritsar highlights, even given the heavy fog. The afternoon 'Closing of the Border' ceremonies are an amazing
Experience with 20,000 people thronging daily to watch the 'show' of patriotic enthusiasm and military machismo. The Golden Temple was also somewhat hidden by the fog, but a place of obvious devotion and service.
I have no words to thanks the owner and staff that every day works to keep on this paradise. Staying here for me has been like staying at home and this is the best thing that an hotel can do. I've loved everything: the room, the garden, the living for the guests and the kindness of the owner and the staff...also Chochi the little dog is adorable!!
Telling is "charming" it's not enough!
I have also appreciated the food and the effort -with excellent results- to offer organic and sustainable product.
Finally, we had a problem and it has been resolved with a kindness and a precision that means that you are not only a client but a guest of a real house.
Definilty Amritsar wouldn't have been the same with no Svaasa.
So, hope to see you soon, when I'll came back in Amristar I know I've a house where came back to!
An amazingly well maintained property. The name savaasa means breath the feeling of an old building breathing can be felt from the very entrance the fragrance of indo-Brit -royal tradition wafts through the air surrounds you to immerse in the the perfume. The feeling of an living old structure makes you feel protected cocooned and at peace with your own breath, if that wasn't enough the cuisine masterfully crafted is an added delight for the other sense, adding a cherry to thatis the attraction that Whenever one wants to press the refresh button for the body not only the spa is there but in every room modern bathrooms with pressurised showers add the surprise of luxury.
Congrats to the owners.
