It is a very small hotel. Room was too small basic facelities were missing. Staffs were very poor in their service. The breakfast was horrible in taste of the restaurant.

Serene atmosphere and Amazing hospitality make a divine combination Serene atmosphere and Amazing hospitality make a divine combination

by Kinchit P on November 5, 2016

We traveled here as a family and the manager Chandravir Singh gave us the suite room (best room of the palace) to suit our needs. This place is "heriage" from top to bottom and serves as a perfect digital detox. We went during diwali and surprisingly there were no other guests except a german group. If you are lucky enough, you can find a lot of migratory birds in their garden near the entrance. The food here was also delicious and prepared as per our taste. All the staff was well trained and very obedient and friendly. Summing up, this place serves as a perfect nature getaway which is not too heavy on the pocket and I am very pleased to say that this trip was worth every penny spent.

A to-be-discovered fort in Udaipur district A to-be-discovered fort in Udaipur district

by Lohil on September 28, 2016

Formerly a ruin, it has been restored and opened only in 2014 but is still largely unknown, yet it has much going for it. At sunset, you get a magnificent 180 view of the Aravallis range. The fort has 30 finely decorated and very clean rooms but is largely empty in off season, so you can have it all to yourself and enjoy the beautiful swimming pool too. Food is very good and staff has retained the demeanor of times gone by. Ideal for small seminars or weddings or yoga retreats. Or, as I said earlier, just to have a whole fort for yourself!

Remote yet Royal Remote yet Royal

We cousins went to stay here for one night a couple of days ago. But one night was just not enough. If you are looking for quiet and relaxing place to stay, then this is your abode. When I say quiet, it literally means quiet, with nothing much around for few kilometers, there is not even a TV and nor WiFi. A stand alone fort with its majestic decor will surely impress you and the greenery around will soothe your eyes. A kaccha road that lead to the fort takes you in it's the glorious past. The majestic front door is just the glimpse of what lays inside. Big garden, marble swimming pool, big spacious royal rooms, carved corridors, traditional windows, shrubs and creepers that go right up to the terrace, this heritage hotel just has it all. The only sound you hear is that of chirping birds, gushing winds and peacock's scream. They serve simple lip smacking food. Dont miss out on their Chicken curry, aloo parata, poha and jeera rice. Highlights Dip in the marble swimming pool and watching sunset through its majestic windows with a cup of piping hot coffee. The staff here is ever ready to help and really make you feel royal.

Get to live the Royal Life among the nature Get to live the Royal Life among the nature

Karni Fort is one of those historic places which you should visit at some time in your life. As the name says, its a fort converted into a hotel. Located around 50 kms from Udaipur city, its a place which will take you back into a golden era. Once you enter Udaipur, switch on your GPS and it will take you right up to this beautiful place. The road leading to this place is very scenic and one the best roads you can drive on. As the place is located far off from the city, its better to have your own vehicle or ask for one to visit this place. It is not accessible via any public transport. As soon you you take a diversion of the main road, around 400 meters is a kacha road leading to this Fort. As soon you see its main door, you already get mesmerized. And once you set your foot in, you will be greeted by different species of birds in its garden. We spotted the wood pecker, cuckoo, parrots, drongo and many others. Squirrels are everywhere and as the sun starts going down, peacocks pay a Its ethereal. Once a big fort which was almost in ruins around 1996, the new owner of this place bought it with the idea of converting it into a hotel where the tourists would be able to live the life of the royal family. The fort now converted has many rooms spread horizontally and vertically across 2-3 floors. Don't miss out on a evening sit-out on the terrace to watch the sun set. Its quite a magnificent view. Room: We were upgraded to the royal suite thanks to Mr. Chandraveer Singh knowing we had come to celebrate our anniversary. The first thing that amazed us was the the sheer size of the suite and the beautiful views across any window. The bathroom comes with a bathtub in the suite. And first time ever, I saw a round bed. :) Staff : All the members of the staff were very helpful and always greeted with a smile. The owner of the hotel is very kind and always makes it a point to ask about your well being with a smile on his face. Very rare to find such genuine hospitality. Mr. Kamal Singh at the Front Office is a very friendly and hospitable person who will take care of your every need. He also took us to a secret tunnel which used to be used as a secret getaway during the olden era. Food: Another highlight of the stay was the food. We asked for chicken curry for lunch and couldn't stop licking our fingers. Pool: Our first ever experience of the marble pool. Its really a royal experience to take a dip in the pool with peacocks strutting around. You can also ask for refreshments by the pool side and the staff is very glad to oblige. Museum: One of the rooms of the Fort has been converted into a small museum which houses some rare pics of the original fort which was in shambles. Dont forget to visit this place. Overall a good place to stay considering its location, views, and the staff hospitality.
