Horrible. Would not advice anyone to go to BANDHAVGARH MEADOWS. The rooms were extremely dirty. THE bathroom was also very dirty. The bedsheets were very smelly. The food was of very bad quality. The heater was not sufficient to warm the room. The guest bed was very bad. The approach road was extremely bad. In short the holiday was a disaster. We changed the resort the next morning. They had taken Rs 10000 for food from us but didnot refund even half of the money even though we ate only two meals in the resort.
I am amazed at the excellent reviews of this property mentioned online. Had to again check if the name of the property we stayed at and the property I am viewing online is actually the same place. Turns out that it is. Probably the reviews online are posted by company employees and friends and relatives. Even the pics posted seem morphed. We experienced nothing as depicted in the pictures.
We are 2 couples & one adult child. The couple are both Senior Citizens, all 70 years and above. Not so inclined to give reviews. But our stay at Bandhavgarh Meadows was so excruciating that I specially sat and penned my experience in detail.
We booked this resort through our timeshare partner for one week stay. We booked two units and deposited full amount to RCI. We got the acknowledgement on January 10th, 2019 for our booking from January 25th for 7 days.
The day of arrival we reached at 6 pm and the check-in took 2 hours as the resort manager insisted that they had no affiliation with RCI. We showed him all mails and confirmations and after much deliberation, discussion, argument and all of us speaking with Mr. Z Khan (resort representative in their HO in Nagpur), we were told that our stay was paid for through RCI but we had to pay, in cash, Rs. 43,750/-+ 18% tax towards meals @1250/- per person per day for 5 people for 7 days.
We said that if we are lucky to get the sighting the very first day we will leave and there is no point staying for 7 days just for the meals we have paid for.
For every decision Mr. Z Khan in Nagpur was consulted and finally we were told that we pay meal charges for 4 days (in cash - insisted that we pay in cash only). As we were much tired after our road trip and also hungry by then, we paid in cash.
Only after we paid Rs. 29500 in cash they opened the cottages for us after 8:00 pm. We were not issued any receipt for this amount. When we asked for it, we were told that the final bill would be provided at check-out.
For these 2 hours at the shed/reception where we all were sitting, the resort had only 2 chairs at the reception (we 2 males were sitting and negotiating with them). The 2 ladies (both aged around 68 years) and the other couples son had to sit in an open area and were not even offered water or any tea/coffee - it was quite cold.
When we checked in in cottages:
- the rooms were unprepared,
- bedsheets were unchanged and soiled,
- there was no water in one toilet in one cottage & in the other, water was leaking and toilet floor was flooded.
- there is no intercom to connect to the reception and you need to walk to reception whenever you want something
We asked them to change our cottages, which they did 30 minutes hence. In the new cottages, the bathrooms were dirty but still OK (as there was no water issue), the bed linen were filthy and had food/tea/coffee stains on them. When we again approached the reception and complained the Manager told us that they do not have any new linen for us and that previous hotel guests ordered food in room, spill on bed and that is the reason the linen was stained. Said they could not do anything in this regard.
We went for Dinner. There was no buffet system and we were served at our table. We were also the only guests in the dining area. There was no menu to order from and we were served with:
- Palak minced sprinkled with grated paneer,
- Chicken curry
- Roti & Rice
When we asked for some other options, we were told that that this nothing else on the menu and this is the only items available.
We immediately decided to shift in the morning. Next day post breakfast we told the resort manager that we wish to check out due to reasons mentioned above.
The resort manager was nonchalant about this and said OK. When we said that we should be refunded the amount we had paid for 04 days, we were told that that was impossible. Again after a gruelling two hours of arguments, we were refunded 50% of the amount we paid in cash. Also, no bill or final bill was provided to us. We were told that the receipt for refund is the only provision they had.
We check into another resort next door and had a pleasant stay.
Over all at Bandhavgarh Meadows we felt cheated on, looted and charged for services we did not avail. Also no proper receipts and bills were issued to us. The stay was excruciatingly bad.
I recently stayed here while on vacation and would 100% recommend this resort to anyone. The location is ideal, right near the various gates to enter the national park. The staff is extremely attentive and friendly. The ambience fits perfectly for a safari with the rooms having the luxury of any five star city hotel. Delicious local food with different dishes at each meal. Perfect get away from the hustle of the major cities. This is a must stay location and I will definitely be back!
We had a great stay at Bandhavgarh Meadows. The manager Mr. Mahendra was very friendly and helped us book the safari Jeep and even a cab to Umaria. The highlight of our stay would be the food in breakfast, lunch and dinner. Great service and hospitality. The villas were quite spacious with all the required amenities. The resort is located just ahead of Tiger Trails resort after crossing a small bridge.
We stayed at Bandhavgarh meadows which is a good property with excellent staff. The rooms are very spacious and a huge attached bathroom. The room we stayed in had a bath area where you had to go down two steps but no steps were provided. I wonder how older people would manage a bath in this type of accommodation. There is a lot to be desired from the administration staff who are bang on opposite to the excellent staff at the meadows. The property itself has wonderful amount of birds throughout the day.
