Owned by brothers who are nice and accommodating. I arrived earlier than check-in time but they gave me the room right away so I could rest. I just booked the fan room for a night, it also had a cooler however so that helped me bear the torturous heat. The room had two single beds pushed together. I was traveling solo and was just looking to find a group to join for the safari. One of the brothers talked to a guide from the park and then told me to hangout by the ticket office and ask around. I just bumped into the same guide he told me about, who found a group for me to join. They were also super nice and did not charge me for late check-out even if I offered to pay. The only issue I had was the water, pressure was too low and it often went out. But the staff fixed it right away.
Its a small hotel. Its owned by Yadav brothers. They can provide you with other services like Taxis, Gypsies for safaris, Internet, restaurant, etc. I loved whatever time I stayed there. Its very near to Main Ticket Counter. Its situated on the main road, with grocery shops, ATM, Wine shop in close proximity. And Special Thanks to Mr. Guddu Yadav for his services. Keep up the good work.
We visited Bandhavgarh in March 2016 and stayed at Hotel Bagh Vihar. The owner Gudduji and his brothers were very nice and v helpful. My entire trip was so pleasant and also adventurous because of their care and initiatives regarding Tiger Safaris, my Train Ticket booking, Amazing Food and the Genuine gestures they showed toward us. It felt like home, I wish I could stay longer. Don't miss the opportunity to stay here! Highly Recommended!!
Fantastic place to stay. The hotel is run by the family. Excellent food. As Bengalee we were served mutton and rice during lunch. Cheap, Clean and Friendly. One of the owner of the Hotel is Shri. Guddu Yadav (a.k.a Gudduji) is an excellent person and so do his brothers and every member of the family. From the security point of view , I was carrying limited cash during my stay and the cards stopped working in Bandhavgarh, Gudduji the owner turned out to be a God to a stranger like me and told me not to feel tensed and told me to pay his bills after reaching Kolkata and offered me to accept extra money from his end so that I take care of any trouble I might face during my trip and while going back to Kolkata. He kept in touch with me till I reached Kolkata. Prefer visiting Bandhavgarh via Katni(KTE) at night by train. We reached there at 12.30 am where Gudduji was himself there with his car at Katni Station to pick us up. It's a 2 hrs drive and during this drive to Bandhavgarh you will experience and see the nocturnal nature of the forest with wild animals running around and coming in front of your car. You can contact the hotel for Safari permits, They will do it for you and organise a Gypsy for the safari. Prefer morning safari to get a view of the tiger. Heartfelt thanks warm regards & love to Gudduji and everyone in his family from us. Pinak Choudhury
Very pleasant stay in BAGH VIHAR hotel right in the center of Tala village. While basic (no TV, no AC, old furniture, etc), it was large, comfortable, clean, with a nice bathroom and with a silent ceiling fan (!). Hot water, free WIFI and internet worked perfectly. Normal, the owner also runs an internet cafe... There are multiple shops and restaurants around the hotel The hotel is family-run. They can organise for a bike. I payed a budget price (single 450Rs/night) so the comfort/price ratio was excellent. Even if there are multiple similar budget hotels in the area, I preferred this one after having visited two other. Warning: door openings are low, mind your head !!! Tala is a quite and peaceful place. Many hotels are in decline and rundown. Do not blindly trust the pictures you'll find on the internet ! The National Park offices are at a 5 to 10 minutes walking distance. A special mention for the 'HER CAFE' with an European look, nearly opposite the road, where they serve an organic Indian cuisine. The kitchen is open, like a glass house. Dishes are cooked in the extremely clean kitchen with fresh ingredients, in front of you. Try for instance the panneer-butter-massala 175Rs. They have very nice terrace in front and plan to extend in the green garden behind. The menu is short and changed day after day. They serve breakfast too. A special mention as well for the 'CAFEMALAYA' (cafe & handicraft shop), very near, run by Mrs Neelam. You can visit her shop and leave without buying. She sells beautiful little handicrafts collected by her from whole India. She is a dynamic woman, not aggressive at all. Take a tea or coffee with her and she will explain how she manages to collect all these beautiful items fair trade. Prices are honest, labeled and fixed. I noticed that also Indian tourists couldn't bargain. There is a wine shop right in front for those interested. To visit the NATIONAL PARK, you might walk to the 'Interpretation Center' in the early morning just before 5:00 AM, and ask the present jeep drivers whether they might add you to their party. I (single) was succesful doing so. Overmore, I saw three tigers during the morning safari, lasting from 7:00 to 10:00.
